I am going to put in the procharge 502s. I took a bunch of pics during the painting. I'm going to post a thread after we get back next Monday. Enjoying the FL sunshine.

Extended tabs, Canopy's have been redone, bilge modified a bit to accept the staggered engines.

Water inlet hose picks up water from the rear step - not from a pickup tube hanging off the back of the transom. Jerry does that to provide undisturbed water flow to the props. He says the undisturbed water flow makes for a better handling boat and increases speed. :eekdrop: All the mounting brackets are out being painted. When the bilge is finished it will be painted gray/silver.
Still trying to come up with a paint design for the hull and running short on time, but Mitcher T is on the job. He hopes to have a design by the end of next week. |
BTW, does anyone know where in the heck the stern light socket is on this boat?

Looks great!
Holy crap those are some long tabs. Your boat may be different then mine but check on these things. I noticed there is no drain holes on the side of the hull for the deck hatches. Water will pour into the front compartment if you do not put one in the lip of the hatches. There is also a drain hole in the center of the deck, under the bow rail, just before it flares up to the dash that prevents water from pooling and overflowing into the cockpit. You may also want to put a bilge pump in the front compartment if it doesn't have one already. If water gets in there when sitting on the trailer, it doesn't drain to the back. Here is a stern pic of my boat. The stern light is centered just under the name. Look at the side shot of my boat from front to back. There are two thru hull fittings for the deck hatch drain and sump pump and one for the deck center drain by the canopies. You can't really see the deck drain but it is right behind the last bow rail support. Keep up the great work! P.S.- If you need parts talk to Josh Stickles. If he doesn't have it, he knows where to get it. |
Thanks a bunch Tom, I'll pass that along to Jerry.

Updates.......
|
The project was put in hold for a bit due to a medical emergency but it is now coming together. Also, Mitch came up with an awesome design for the boat. Hope to have some progress pics up in a day or two.
|
Sorry for your emergency, hope all is well.
|
Thanks Tom. The rigger had a medical scare but he's doing fine now.

Seats are done. I like the way it turned out with the exception of the 001 on the back of the front headrests. I had envisioned a patch with 001 rather than the individual numerals that large. Maybe it looks different in person. As is it kind of looks like an after thought and not part of the seat.
|
Looking great Robert!
|
Thanks Jeff. Have you splashed your Unlimited?
|
The interior looks sweet!
I kind of agree about the 001. A "patch" or maybe a little lower like the way "DONZI" is written on the front. Not a huge deal because it still looks very cool. |

SWEET!
The 001 on the seat backs looks much better in the overall interior now. |

Tks guys, I'm torn between the red side panels in mine and the all silver like they are on the orange ZRC. What do you think?
Are the red side panels too much contrast with the silver seats? |

Two tone looks good. So when is this going to the water? LC is our home lake and I would love to see it run. Good luck with it...
|
Thanks, suppose to be there the week of the Thunder Run then off to the painter after the run.
|
silver looks much tougher and won't date
|
Now a nice snap in rear carpet in red with a silver Donzi Logo!
Looks awesome, love the two-tone. When the seat wear in mine, I am going to put silver or grey seat inserts in mine to break up all the red. |

Look for us on the water this summer. We have a red 22 Classic and a blue 370SS. If it looks like a crazy is coming your way in one of these boats, we are! I rode in your boat when it was new and look forward to seeing it again. |

We might make the Thunder Run, but we have a Donzi rally in Chattanooga the weekend before it, so I'm a maybe at this point.

The dash panels and gauges go in tomorrow. He hopes to have it on the water this coming weekend for testing. Testing should look something like this :)
