Thats only a problem on the total dry sumps that run tanks in the boat and a pump on the engine.The second and third seal never see oil anyway. First seal faces in and the second and third seal face out.
Mercs drysumps still hold enough oil when idle to the top skeg. When you running it drops down to right above the nose cone. Not as fast as a total drysump but less tanks,hoses,pumps and water!!
I check mine after every hard day and so far no problems.

Six drive gears hold up better w/just a spray of oil rather than submerged in oil we found.Gears submerged in oil had higher failure rates and the newer upper gear sets are nice.

Ok, I've decided on Amsoil severe duty gear lube.. now which weight 75w-90 or 75w-110?? and why?

I heard 110 ,,,but i could not tell u why . ?!

Also heard LUCAS oil is not bad.

I guess it's Amsoil 75w-110?? Where is the cheapest place to buy??

I need gallons (5) rather than quarts....
