Default XR Trim Problems?

Finally got the boat on water last weekend and trying to figure out the drive trim. From the hand control it only trims down, not up. The trailer trim works. Anybody have any ideas what I need to look for?

It seem to work when engine is off, can't here the pump running with engine to loud. I can tried to check it out some more next weekend. Still thank it could be limit switch? Looks like previous owner may have been jacking with wires too.

Trace down the limit switch wires. They are close to the trim pump. Unplug them and us a jumper wire to go between the connectors by the pump. Not the ones going to the outdrive but the ones they plug into. You will need 2 male conectoes and 2 inches of wire.

blueabyss,
The drive trim gauge wasn't working either, so I unpluged a 3 wire connector an plugged it into a unused 3 wire plug and now it works. Should there be a unused connector?

Where is the connector at? By the trim pump or up behind the engine. The trim limit switch and sending unit have 2 wires each. 2 go over the trim pump and 2 up behind the engine. They are bullet connectors not a a plug so someone else on here might need to us. But if it is working then great.

There is two 3 wire connectors close to the trim pump, I just switched them and now the gauge works but not the trim up on throttle. I will look at it again this weekend and try to get picture? Thanks for your input.

Outdrive trim up now works until motor starts. After motor starts only will trim down. To trim up I have to use trailer trim up button. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Power for pump needs to be hooked up directly to batt. Maybe there is a bad ground but something is cutting power to pump once its running still sounds like trim limit switch. Trailer switch over rides that and works pump.
