Default Upgrading From Bravo Xr To...????

I am currently running Bravo XR drives with IMCO -2 lowers on a 35 single step Fountain Lightning that I just purchased.

The boat currently has big power (850 HP) and I keep snappling the verticle shafs in the drives (three times this season). I am currently looking at de-tuning the motors to try to avoid this problem (changing the blower pully and turning the power down to 650 HP).

Is there any option to upgrade the drives to something else that can handle the power and not cost me an arm and a leg? If not Ill be looking for a new boat in a couple of months.

Call John P at the Bravo Shop and see if he can help you out. He's been working on improving all the shafts in the bravos 402-297-7977

I'd rather break shafts than gear sets......that bing said, call John @ the Bravo Shop. He really has some talent for making things that should be right, correct.

850hp that is SC'd through any Bravo drive is going to have problems. John at the Bravo Shop is your best bet, but still the vertical shafts are only so big and can only handle so much no matter what you do to them.

John at the Bravo shop actually turned me on to George at All American Drives for Bravo parts. Seems he has some high strength alloy shafts that he Cryo's that will take 850hp.

What would the cost be to change from my bravo xr's to ASD? Where would you recommend I get the work completed?

I enjoy my boat, and hate the cost and down time of the broken bravos.
