parts availability. i don't think it is that big an issue. the parts don't get scrapped...the hulls do. every time somebody buys a TRS boat, somebody else just sold it. net gain in boats potentially needing these parts is 0. you don't hear of very many people closing up their bravo hole in the transom and cutting it out for SSM or TRS. the real advantage of bravo over these other drives is the cockpit of the boat is 14 inches longer. and that matters more to most boaters than 90 to 130 mph does.

Most boats that have/had SSM or TRS, cigs, Fountains, apaches, etc, were built for them. Even when bravo equipped they kept the original layout . now, certain boats, like Baja's or small runabouts that debuted after the bravo was introduced , yes , can have bigger cockpits. That was the main reason for a shiftable outdrive. More room

There is absolutely no way in hell, that a SSM III, should be rated below and XR sportmaster!. Or a KAAMA better than a 3A, 4, 5....I'll give my ranking list lol

Just my opinion!
Also from what I know the Kamma is rated for 600 HP and doesnt have the problems of a typical outdrive with gears so wouldnt that still put it above a SSM 3
