Yes it will just slide out, be gentle with the alignment of the cardan joint through the helmet, its pretty tight.
Can't help with the lock nut.

Is there a number etched or stamped on the lock?If so, you can call them and they will get you a key. That drive is heavy, better use a lift of some sort.

Ready to pull the drive, but does the trim cylinder need to be removed?.....I found the key to unlock Mcgard lock.

The trim rams don't need to be removed, I just loosen them off so they are completely clear of the drive. And definitely use a lift.
When re-installing the drive, lubricate the studs on the bell housing with oil and torque to 80ft.lbs.

You're welcome!
I would take the opportunity to inspect everything, bellows, tail-stock seal, universals and anything else that is around there that doesn't get looked at close, regularly.
Make sure that no minors are present while the hose is being installed, it can be challenging which may lead to colorful language!

What's amazing is really no u-tube video's of 3's 3a's V's etc; etc; mostly Bravo's which is a kinda different approach since they don't have a transmission to deal with oil hoses and what not.
Wish there was video of the cardan joint thru the Helmut process.....I need some luck with this one since there will be no one around to lay some colorful language on lol.

Hahaha, it will come out smooth, just keep the drive neutral with the helmet. Installation can be challenging, I've slid it in first try and was completely shocked. On other occasions I need to walk away for a few minutes after messing with it for half an hour. If you have the springs on the tail stock it will be much easier, I don't have them. I would make a you tube video, but guaranteed that would be the time it does not co-operate!

Just to understand, the springs on the tail stock (don't know if I have them since its my first time at this ) are a sort of guide to help in re-attachment?........also, when all of the 6 gimble bolts are out, dose the outdrive tend to just fall away and separate?..or does it usually take a bit of nudging it to separate?

Yes the spring is to guide the yoke into the tail stock. The friction on the studs is the only thing stopping it from coming apart. A little pulling while taking some weight with the hoist and it will slide out.
