How do you guys cut thru the vinyl without tearing it to shreds with a jigsaw?
If you are worried about vinyl, trace your opening with a pencil and then use a razor, but go SLOOOOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLLLY.

A saw that size is a hundred bucks, not worth it for 2 holes, to me.

Also, have a second pair of hands there; specifically holding the shop vac right behind your cut.

I used a dremel. I dont really care if its "perfect" since the speaker covers it up.

Hey Brian,

Thanks for the threads, appreciate them.

I will upgrade the stereo in the AT.

2 - 10 inch subs
2 - 8.8 coaxials
2 - 7.7 coaxials
2 - tweeters
1 - MHD 900/5 amp

All JL Audio and M series speakers. I'll start with this and see how it is and if need be ill add more later.

For me it really depends on the hole I have to cut and the area I have to cut in. Whenever possible I use a hole saw of the right size. 10" hole saws are pretty expensive, so I will use a jig saw or a rotozip for those.

Just have to ask what is your plan for the speaker placements? I don't see what you need the extra set of tweeters for, unless your 8.8 & 7.7's are going to be placed very low in the boat.

That system you have right there should make plenty of sound. The 10" may have a bit of a hard time keeping up with the four coaxial speakers, but should add some solid bass to the system.
