I removed the silent thunder box and now i'm trying to get the stock 1 inch exhaust tips off. Besides the 3 screws that hold it to the transom is there anything else? I cannot seem to break it loose from the silicone and chaulk. Sugesstions? I bought the corsa slant cut tips with internal flappers and anxious to get them on! thanks

When I changed the tips on my Baja Outlaw, I pulled the exhaust hoses off and then took a piece of 4" pipe and smacked them loose from the inside.

smack that 3M 5200 all you want. heat is the only way! heat up the dia. of the flange where it meets the tubing with a torch a little at a time. you'll hear the 5200 popin' a little. remember a little temp at a time 'cause there's a thin line between getting the tubing and the flange hot enough to transfer enough heat into the 5200 to release it...
and hot enough that so much heat get's transfered that the gelcoat "browns" a little around the flange.
I got mine hot enough to brown the gel a little (un-noticable, and mostly covered by the larger dia. of the Corsa "can") and it still wasn't totally released...brought a few flakes of gel from the edge with it.
heat, take your time, and one at a time!

Mine didn't have 5200 around them, looked like the 4200 when I got them off.. With the 5200 you could destroy the gelcoat and still couldn't get them off...(made that mistake with my older Formula and a vhf antenna mount)
