New Taco Rub Rail
#21
Yes the old rub rail screws on the outside of the rub rail removed the inter rub rail on my boat. At this point I then tighten the thru bolts that hold the boat together before installing the new rail. Propwash

nice update over the black !!
the only problem with the white insert is that it's hard to keep clean. it seams to be very porous and sucks up dirt....at least mine does. i wonder if you can seal it with something??

the rub rail is just screwed to the boat. no thru bolts. the thru bolts are behind the rubrail and hold the boat together while whatever adhesive they use to bond the two halves cures. I took my old rub rail off, filled the holes with some fuzor as the new rail and the old rail holes will not line up, and am getting ready to apply the new style rub rail from formula. white rail with stainless insert. on a 91 292 btw

sounds like somebody has started a major rub rail revolution. thanks for the info on the rub rail attachment, i'm definitely going through with this now. did a little searching on taco's website and i'm not sure which vinyl to get. according to their website part #'s with whc are frosty white??? but where is the info on the s.s. if i would want to go that route. sabercatt maybe you can help here with part #'s thanks

Ok, I went back thru. my rub rail stuff and it looks like I used Taco rail v21-9679whc20d. The whc is for frost white 20d is for 20 foot rail. Also the stainless insert is a 3/4 hollow back no. s11-4511. This can be bought at different lengths as well. I would not jump to order this same rail with out ordering a SAMPLE FIRST to check against your boat. The rail I pulled off my boat I believed was not the original rail but very close to what Formula used back then. I hope this help those interested in this update. Propwash
