Sure, all it'll cost is gas money.

That would be a Subourbon. I grew up around a Chevy dealership and I know my chit.

I'd buy a sled but I'm saving my money for Fountain stock and Whipples, and short sportmasters, and Herings. Ahh fock it, I'll just do a staggered 38 instead.

Dave, I've got a 96 z440 cat out in the barn send me a primary clutch and I'll have the kid fix it up for you It's air cooled very reliable, windshield removed so it goes faster....It'll make you feel like your in your boat at WOT. Oh and it's got more studs in the track than those ice drag guys have - kid got bored one day. At loeast you'll be able to stop on the hard pack.

No old 12.3 Bombers kicking around???? We wouldn't want the novice to hurt himself.

I'm thinking that Thundercat I've got my eye on will do the trick!!

Thing is, how do I know if I'm even going to like riding? I need to get out there and give it a shot. Between the bikes, four wheelers, cars, and boats, it shouldn't be a problem adapting. Just gotta justify the time vs. money. How much will it cost vs. how much am I going to be able to get away?

Either way...count me in!

Dave

vs. Boating it's a dirt cheap endeavor! Call Jake he can probably hook you up with a monster sled with nitrous or a turbo / supercharger set up.

Been speaking with Jake on a regular basis. That's where the Thundercat is...

As for vs. boating...yea, but I use the boat alot compared to having a sled sit in my garage 51 weeks out of the year...

Honestly I agree, for many years I kept two sleds and a trailer around all the time. Had the reason to have two, and we did use them a lot. Lots of weekends at our hunting camp and rode most every weekend as long as we had snow. Things are different, and I doubt I would ever use a sled as much now.

An option here would be going to an area where snowmobiling is a big deal, many places have rentals available. Such as in Rock Stars neck of the woods, I'm sure you could do a rental deal out there. Years ago I bought a sled from Big Moose Yamaha and they had a rental deal. I wouldn't mind a vacation deal and rent just for chits and grins.

There's lots of rentals out here in Michigan as well, but don't expect it to be the latest and greatest and no where near the fastest. typically 400-600cc depending on where you go.

Question for you .....

What is the best way to get to the area you are refering to? Is it best to cross into Canada and goto London Ont. area or a little higher and go to top of Lake Saint Clair area or drive around the bottom of Erie and up from there?
