Dave Don't know if I should be worried or go out for some Hoffmans and a real looooooooooooong stick. :lolhit: |
Ok big weekend coming up here, time to ratchet up the rhetoric.
Will 5P be quilty of boathouse warming? Or dog toasting? (Border Collies excepted) Will Axa get his new nuts in time? Will Twins make an "enlightened" roost vid that tops Kelly O's? Will Twins even be able get it up? Will Team Formula show with a pair of red, yellow and orange colored Hustlers to defend their brand? Will the little white guy get the Black Biotch wet? Sounds like time to have some fun to me! |

Sounds like time to have some fun to me! I hope you bring what you were drinking last night up to the river this weekend after you are done painting the stripes on the cookies for Keebler. I do find it amusing that you are curious if "Twins can get it up". Seeing you are approx. 15+ yrs. my senior ..... you might want to reconsider your question. So when you bring your blue motors and your blue pills up to the river we will talk about who can get it up. Oh yeah I will be there with neither! Why you ask? Cause I don't need them unlike "the little white guy with the Black Biotch" :coolcowboy: Jeff |
Must have been "Bourbon Thirty" or "Thirty Bourbons"!!

Dave Well it's still floating in the riptide slip, as of a few hours ago. Perhaps he headed over to flip it for the 382 sitting out front. |
A sneak peak at the new Biotch...

Not good!!!:drink: Nothing broke that I know of. My GPS antenna battery took a dump, so I spent the weekend running a max of 32. Seems to be a good speed to save the equiptment. Only issue I heard of, second hand info as I was asleep in the boat at the time, was a very late night event involving an visiting individual having issue with the dock. Actually more the lack of dock as I understand. |
Twins, you get home? Call me when you can. 4276006

I thought a slip at the boathouse was a noun.
Guess it can also be a verb ?? |
What a weekend!
I made it home finally ......
Wow! What an action packed weekend!!! I guess my eight track got a little loud the first evening .... kinda set the the tone for the weekend :argue: .... the north end of the boathouse vs the southend of the boathouse ..... :coolcowboy: Bird you may have broke your wallet ..... I drown mine as well as my new "waterberry"! :poopoo: Seeing a "six pack of little people" trying to order a round of drinks at a bar ....... someone said the circus was in town ....:party-smiley-020: Pete, I was merely inspecting our slips as well as the main dock ..... I didn't want you to break one of the heels from your new Fountain issue driving shoes. I have to tell ya ..... you are sharper then I thought! Who knew you would think about wearing "high heels" while driving the "Black Biotch" just to see around the compass. :lolhit: Song of the weekend ...... "She's a crazy *****" ..... thanks Greg! :coolcowboy: Kitty learned a couple new words reggin and gaf and Canadians.:D:D Apparently there was a crew on a black 311 with a yellow stripe on it getting the whole shoreline of Clayton to do the wave! :party-smiley-004: Kelly, our lights might be mistaken as a "State or something of authority" when you are running through the crowd after a :flag: fire works display ..... I'm just saying ..... :lolhit: Quote of the night ..... from Bad Habit after backing his Hustler into his slip at The River Edge with a crowd on standby from the ABay fireworks display ....."My name is Duck and I, Drive a red fire truck!" "And I don't give a ...... Wahooooooo!!!!!!!!" The crowd went wild! :lolhit: Cuposter..... I didn't relize you were down the river from us! We went to the "Hole" .... very cool spot! :boat::boat::boat::boat::boat: Ending the 4th with all of you hanging with Karen and Frank on their island (Florence Island) ..... WTF .... that place was awesome !!! :Score-101010: You can't make this **** up !!!! As always .... had a blast !!!!! Jeff |

Yes I have, in my case I was being green minded trying to fish debris out of the river and sild right in. Sober as a nun mind you. :drink: Agree that the deck, deck, No deck  thing has taken it's toll over the years. Only bad deal was last year when JoAnn went in, that one could have had consequences, fortunately it did not turn out that way. |

It's a wonder everyone hasn't fallen off those 1' wide excuses for docks. Those fingers are scary when you're strait as a judge. Get some cocktails in you and it's just a matter of time. It's also a wonder someone hasn't split their head open on the way down. Definitely not my favorite dock situation.
On a related note, the TI Sun was supposed to have the results of the US vs. Canada boat meeting last weekend, anyone heard anything? Are we going to war or what? |

On a related note, the TI Sun was supposed to have the results of the US vs. Canada boat meeting last weekend, anyone heard anything? Are we going to war or what? Per news up here sounds like the Canadians are sticking to the line that it is their law and application of it will be their choice. AM TV news today is that a politician will be taking to the waters of the St. Lawrence today to fix it. Could be a good thing if the Canadians confiscate him! :lolhit: |
Canada vs. USA
Well I decided to make the calls today to both parties .... being customs on both sides .....
Canada ..... The rule of entering any part of Canada by any means of transportation ..... More importantly by boat ..... You MUST check in at the nearest point of land where a vessel can land. All crew/passengers must stay aboard the vessel while the Captain either goes to the Office/Agent or phone booth provided or call 1-888-226-7277 from a cell phone at your boat on land. Then follow instructions from answering agent. Prior to making the call make sure the captain has all identification of crew/passengers in order to provide it to agent. The agent will give you a check in number ..... keep it in a safe place! I keep a log with the date and time checking in ...... the check in number ...... who was with me ....... you never know if you are going to be challenged. This ruling has always been in place ........ just not enforced! This year ...... it is and will continue to be enforced moving forward. U.S.A. ....... You MUST check back into US if you checked into Canada! You MUST use the assigned entry points for checking back into the US. They either have on duty agents or you have to use a Video Phone ..... everyone must be present for the use of the Video Phone with proper ID in hand. If using agent .... follow thier instructions. Sidebar ......... if you have as well as ALL crew/passengers a I-68 or Nexxus card you can call from your landing point apon your arrival to the USA from Canada. Everyone on board MUST have one these in order to use this option ..... example ..... if one person doesn't out of five on board you MUST all go to the assigned entry point! The number for this is 1-800-827-2851. What if ? You are travelling through american waters into canadian and back and don't check in? You have broken 2 laws ..... illegaly entered Canada and illegally re-entered the US. These are the laws of the river as of today from both sides in thier language of discription. It is what it is ....... :bsflag: Jeff |

Been asking around this week while I have been up here. actually went into the US and Candian offices and called both US State Dept and Canadian embassy. Still trying to get the FULL rules in writing but here is the deal "only exception, according to the State Department, is for boaters traveling through Canadian waters from one U.S. point to another, and without stopping along the way. In replying to questions about the issue, the State Department and the Canada Border Services Agency each forwarded a document outlining the Canadian policy, spelling out what sorts of trips do not require reporting. "In-transit movement must be continuous, uninterrupted and without delays or stop-overs. Such movement could be for reasons of the shortest route, requirement of deep waters, evading obstacles such as bridges, etc.," the document states So in the multiple people I talked to they said don't stop to drift, swim or fish in Canadian waters without checking in. Also keep the boat in gear and going where you are going if using Candian waters. |
It's on the news tonight, results of another meeting today, somewhat relaxed for the fishermen/ fisherpersons?/ to be able to call in by phone. Floaters and other folks of questionable character are still focked.
http://www.wwnytv.com/news/local/Bre...125217289.html Guess you need to keep your pole and worms on board. |

No offense, but as I understand it so long as you are in transit from one place to the next / other and do not land on the opposite side of the line you are fine. Start in USA, land in Canada = check in required with Canada customs. Leave Canada, return to USA = check in required with US customs. Start in USA, land in Canada, return to USA = check in required on both sides. Start in USA, transit thru Canadian waters, do not land or anchor or float, return to / end up back in USA = no check in required on either side. Many years ago we would spent a lot of time on the Canadian Parks Islands, Stovin etc, near Brockville. We were told when we would check in, Canadian customs, that we were free to leave the islands / Canada for day boating trips and return without checking in again so long as we did not land back in the USA. If we did we were required to check in with US customs and then again with Canadian customs before returning to the Canadian islands. From what I hear and understand the deal right now is no different than 20 + years ago. Maybe they are being more diligent in their enforcement this year but the law has not changed. |
enforcement has changed though obviously...
To what end? Revenue? Sure as he ll isn't about "security"! Can't stop when transiting Canadian waters on a blistering day and take a dip off the back of the boat? Assinine to consider/call that "landing". you're sailing and the wind dies, sails are flail in that moment you are "drifting" so you have "landed" and need to check in? next time I'm "drifting" in canadian water with a female- shooting video or not- I'll be sure to "hang" one of those "pocket poles" (the ones for fishin') off the back of the boat and tell them when they arrive that I'm looking to make the "catch of the day"... that oughta get me "off". Of couse I'll have a Canadian fishing liscence to cover this base, as you all should consider sh!t is getting rediculous, absolutely rediculous! |
the latest.
http://www.wwnytv.com/news/local/Bre...125217289.html still quite grey though... how can you differentiate without real written customs/immigration language/law a boater who's engine is off to fish, or mine to hang out? what about the guy who's drifting and unbeknownst drifts over the border? |

I'm not disagreeing with what "we think is correct" ..... after speaking to the canadian side for approx. 45 mins. yesterday they clearly stated .... "if you enter "Canadian water" .... you must check in" now whether they want to or have the means to enforce it is a whole other issue. I was under the understanding like yourself(s) you could continue through as long as you didn't stop or "touch ground" via anchor or dock ...... It was pointed out to me in several scenarios that the law has been put in place along time ago just not enforced do to the physical area making it virtually impossible to control ALL boaters. Call the Canadian Customs number 1-888-226-7277 from Hutchinson's and tell the scenario of your "planned route" and post what they told you to do. Jeff |
