So now you are up to date with where I am at on the project.

I will have the design completed on the aluminum platform soon and fabricating will start soon after.

I will also start mounting all the goodies back on......I did some serious thinking about the k planes you all suggested, but think I am going back to the Bennett’s. They are the better 16” ones and seem to do well on the boat.

I do appreciate all the advise, I know there is a lot of knowledge here and coaching/leading me in the right direction is appreciated.

Ill keep updated as I move along.

Attached are the Corsa exhaust tips I purchased to finish the exhaust.

My question for you guys is this. These tips come with internal and external (optional) flaps. I prefer the look without the external flaps. In the water the boat sits with the exhaust about 7” above the waterline. I know this varies with people on platform and waves. Do you think the internal flaps are sufficient protecting from water reversion? My ST platform had all the flaps and baffles taken out and when I removed it, the old heavy brass tips didn’t have the flappers anymore either.....and never had a problem.

Unknown of sufficient or not but I actually like the look of external flappers.

I’m sure if we did a poll, it would probably be close to 50/50 on the looks of having them on or not. I’m not sure exactly which way I will go yet and if the second level of protection is necessary.....although obviously it wouldn’t hurt. Something about me just likes them without.

The internal flappers do the same job and look much better. I have external on mine and not a fan. Mine is a TRS setup so I could probably get away without having any but not sure I want to roll the dice.

That’s what I was thinking but wanted to make sure. I didn’t think they came with external when I ordered, but when they showed up I was second guessing myself. I’m with you TomZ, I’m just not really a fan of them.....we all have different tastes, that’s why they give us all the options!
