Thanks for the input. My 38 will be for sale soon. I am putting it on my website and should have the photos and videos up by the end of the week. What is the longevity on the 700's as for refresh etc. Is it correct that the refresh cost on the 850's or 1075's is 26K each?

How much fast do you want to go? 42 with 1075's can turn into a nightmare if you boat alot of hours a year. I read that 50 hrs they need freshing up. The boat runs upward of 125 mph, easy. How much time do you have at that speed. The learning curve is very steep. Im sure if you are going to drop that much coin, you arent worried about insurance. It goes up as fast as the speed does. Our 38/700's is a blast. Good luck, have fun. Do your self a favor. Check with Shogren Marine talk to Scott. The only dealer I would deal with on a Fountain like that. If you are that serious, talk to him, he is a boat racer and can really point you in the right direction.

Hope This Helps:
These speeds are based on boats we have sold and delivered with a minimum of four people and 200 gallons of fuel on board.
42 With 850's - 118 - 120MPH
42 With 1075's - 133MPH
47 With Triple 525's - 91MPH
47 With Triple 600's - 95MPH
47 With Twin 700's - 89MPH
47 With 850's - Just got our first one - 8 People, 250 Gallons Of Fuel, 102MPH ON Lake Michigan.
I have not run a 47 With 1075's but my guess would be 115MPH with load.

Thanks for the help. I have gotten feedback from several people and I am going to try and find a boat with 700's because I will use my boat a lot and the 850's and the 1075's are not going to give me the longevity I want.
I am going to try and find a 42 with 700's or a 47 with triple 700's. Does anyone know anything about the red 2007 47 w/ triple 700's at Legendary Marine in FL?
If anyone has either of these setups new or pre owned with less then 50 hours please contact me at [email protected]

I have a 42' Lightning with 700's and it's a fantastic combination that has run 105MPH on Lake Michigan. I chose the 700s because of their maintenance schedule since I typically log more then 100 hours per season. Call Scott Shogren and he will take care of you. I bought my last two Fountains from Scott and he's the best.
