I've owned 2 Fountains. A 1993 32 Fever with 502s and a 2005 35 Executioner with 496s. Maybe they built them better in the early 90s than they do now because I didn't have any leaking rubrail issues on the 32. I had my 35 for 2 years and never had it handle funny or feel like it was going to spin. The guy I sold it to spun it the first weekend he used it. I would have to blame driver error. It was his first performance boat having moved up from a 24' Mariah. I've got a 37 AT now with 525s that will run 87 with a Gen,AC,Fridge and Microwave and I actually use all of them. Its 8-10 mph faster and a ride that can't even compare to the Fountains I owned. My 35 was a good boat that was trouble free for 2 seasons but I just decided to move on to bigger and better things.

Hi Guys it was not my meaning to make this tread a discussion about the transom of fountain boats. I was just
cuorios to these test results. I have put the same treads
in this forum, Formula and Donzi. And alltogheter I have got
many intresting comments. Maybe I am not much wiser now
then before I put in the tread.
Anyway tomorrow, I am going to buy a nice 1988 Formula 242SS. Have a nice weekend

I would like to have your general opinion about the 242 SS
Preformance, quality, speed and any other comments you
think can be of any use.

Was a fine riding boat for its size. Huge cockpit. Mine had a 350 MAG small block and max speed was 45 mph, and it felt fast at that speed. Very seldom landed with a crash. MUCH BETTER riding boat than a Formula 312, even though smaller. Mine had the transom rot out twice. Under the passenger seat to port is a great place to put a subwoofer.
