WOW! for thread that as over 1100 post and how many views and all as we hear now are crickets!!!!!!! Back at YPM, on the June 8 , today's the June 26. Have offered some advice, I am sure FPM, has also. Beginning to get the feeling we are not needed at this time. When the project was going on, there was plenty of time for information being posted. What happened?
I take the viewers are only needed here for the back slapping, high fives, picture shows, non data, self promoting information that has been viewed here. Maybe it should be moved over to Tech. That way, questions can be posted, then they can be answered, instead of having all the answers.

Got to be patient , obviously there is more than meets the eye with the flow problem , it might happen to us in the future .

Im sorry if you are not happy with the level of information that has been provided over the last 2 weeks. Both Eddie and I have taken a lot of your ideas into consideration and will more than likely implement some of them. At this time the setup is not complete, nor is it correct....but it is getting closer. Eddie has spoke with IMCO and FPM and has made some changes to the pickups in the lowers, and it appears as if they are helping the low water pressure issue. The bottom line is that we need to get more water into the strainer...and Eddie is currently making modifications to do just that. As soon as we have some concrete results as to whether or not this mod worked...I will let everyone know.

Just stepped out a boat, I guess, I got your attention. How much water could you possibly need with a 1.750" pick-up, unless the hose was reduced back to 1.250". Is the sea strainer running empty? I take the pick-up is 1.750 I.D.?
Good Luck! I hope you get it figured out.

Just wondering cuz Im still using the standard merc sea pumps and they seem to work fine , all you can do is to keep plugging away , anyway this will be good info for the future meaning water flow and presure .

I had a post ready, but my son switched screens and lost it.
I was wondering how much more water you need from a 1.750" pick-up and a large enough sea strainer. The pick-up is sized to the I.D. ? That's like a 2" hose.
Is the sea strainer running dry or dumping water over-board? You can put 4, 1" pick-ups on there and if you can not flow the water through the system you have, it's just going to back-up. If you blew a hose off, that would be your answer. I would be curious to see what your water pressures are at the hose from pick-up, before the sea water pump, before the oil cooler and after the cooler. It seems to me, that you can not flow the water through the rigging on the engine. Have you checked your sea water pump for any impeller damage? How can your set-up require something of more water supply, than FPM, has ever encountered in the past.
My honest opinion is; if Eddie, hasn't figured it out yet and FPM, did the rigging and Eddie, rigged the engines. Eddie, should be hooked up to your boat and pulling over to FPM, letting FPM, come into the picture with a joint solution, between the two of them. Then the brothers can get on with their boating season after a very stressfull project. I am sure if the tables were turned and FPM, had the boat conducting rigging changes Eddie, wouldn't be happy. My self, I would want the joint effort and getting the boat back to the owner. Just my 2 cents!

Just what we needed to get this thread to half a mil... Stock Merc pumps work great unless they get a little air. This will make steam then the pump will fry.. They need to have constant un airaited water.
