Just finishing up de rigging. Now comes the fun part.
Parts are beginning to arrive. Broke it up into three area's
Bow, cockpit, engine bay. The bow is pretty much done. Pressure washed, new bilge pumps hoses, lights, wiring.
Cockpit, seats removed floor pulled fuel bladders removed. Were in the process of refinishing the fuel bladder area's. Will reinstall with all new hoses. Going to reupholster the seats and rebuild the seat shocks.
Engine bay, completely derigged getting it ready to have transom filled and recut for six drives.

Was is it rough shape ? got any before pics ?

KWright 12-18-2016 03:18 PM

No it was in pretty good condition, but being 11 years old ready for some upgrades. A lot of what I'm doing is my ocd kicking in. While I have it apart I will replace all bilge pumps, hoses, new blowers, all new hoses and lines. the boat only had 330ish hours on it. I always wanted a Six drive poker run, We have new M series transoms coming with new dry sump sixes. going to run the velvet drive trans.

There's movement in my pants over this build :eekdrop:

Keith Atlanta 12-18-2016 07:17 PM

Which Fountain Poker Run was that? The one in Texas?

KWright 12-18-2016 07:23 PM

Yes Rainmaker

indysupra 12-18-2016 07:43 PM

Were the fuel bladders leaking on it?

Sydwayz 12-18-2016 07:51 PM

I can't wait to see how this turns out. Did you just buy the boat recently?

Maybe you will want to sell it when you are finished. :D

KWright 12-18-2016 08:09 PM

No the fuel bladders were new last year, I wanted to replace fill hoses and just basically go through the whole boat. I have to plumb in my return lines. Not really a big deal to pull them. Now I will have peace of mind knowing what everything is.

KWright 12-18-2016 08:16 PM

Bought the boat about 3 months ago. Ya I'm kinda excited too. No don't think I will want to sell it, the more I work on it the better I like it. These are really well thought out and constructed boats.

class6 12-18-2016 08:35 PM

Nice Buy!

Keith Atlanta 12-18-2016 08:36 PM

What power are you putting in it?

KWright 12-18-2016 09:07 PM

letterrip 12-19-2016 08:14 PM

Congrats on a wicked cool boat.
Recently before I bought my boat...
I was eyeing that boat hard for months!

Wife would have killed me
She needed "some-what" of a cabin for the kids

Subscribed to this thread for the long coldness coming.

KWright 12-20-2016 07:08 AM

As much as I would like to have some 1100's or 1350's.
For now it will just have my 565 n/a. EFI's.

tmi...................congrats very cool project

Marginmn 12-20-2016 02:31 PM

Awesome project. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

When I had a set a Ilmors rigged in my 38 Fever I got to spend a weekend with Ben Robertson who was doing consulting work for Ilmor at the time. Ben told me that the 42 PR was designed as a five -seater from its inception. When he and the crew at Fountain were doing the final mock-up on the cockpit everyone was very pleased with the way it laid out with the five seats. Then Reggie walked in and took a quick look at the mock-up, shook his head and barked out, "Make it a four seater!" and walked out. Much as they tried to convince him otherwise Reggie had made up his mind.

Since you have it totally apart, apparently there is room for five seats in the 42 PR if you are so inclined :)

I agree with Reggie, it think the 4 seat layout is badazz.

Got to go for a hot lap in Rainmaker several years ago when it was at LOTO. Was a cool rig then, glad to see it's going to be that much better now. Congrats!

First class gear all the way. Nice.

indysupra 02-14-2017 03:43 PM

Had its bravos and 525's.

dykstra 02-14-2017 03:57 PM

I thought RM ran mid 90's with that power?

KWright 02-14-2017 04:57 PM

Yes ITS Bravo's with 525's. Not sure of top speed I've never ridden in the boat.

Does the transmission sit in the extension box with these like they do/did on the nxt?

Even though the #6 has been around for years it still looks like a cutting edge design.
