Re: Exhaust down tubes. Whos using them?
I just tried a pair last night on my Outerlimits w/twin 1000's and Staggered # 6's . The boat was quiet as hell at idle, when i started put the power to it , the boat felt VERY restricted for a few seconds then came into and took off, got back to the dock and one of the center turn-down pipes had blown off. Maybe the pipes were picking up some spray and restricting it ?? The stagged drives are tight, the pipes barly fit. Need to research it more...we're considering cutting them a little shorter, any ideas?

They are Gibson turn downs. In their info they say they must be at least 4-5 inches in the water, i measured mine they are 9-10 inches in. I'm guessing water may be getting deflected into them by bouncing off the ITS rams. Cutting 4 inches off them will raise them high enough out of the spray, and still be long enough to be in the water to muffle properly at idle...i hope
