Active cats were built in Michigan under license from Cougar in the very early 80's. Brownie, as usual, knows more...... but I have less hair......

That is not a "C", cat model, but looks more like a "T" , trimaran model. In any case, it will not run the speed of a true "C" , Powercat . However if you want that type of boat, you should enjoy it.

I am partial to the true cats myself. The rarest Powercat, and one we are all looking for, is the "4 Point hydro" (see below). If you find one of those, you've got the Holy Grail.

One last point......

Do not confuse the 4 point above with the more common 3 point shown below. Both were race boats, but the 4 point is VERY rare..............

We built that boat 20 years ago...and it has now become an urban legend. It is at various times, in a warehouse in AZ, in a field in Ca., in a Rice paddy in Japan....etc, etc.

If you have it....send pictures......

Soundings Magazine 1988 they won't contact me back after e-mails about getting a copy, so if anyone has this issue. I would really like a color or atleast better scan.

Ernie

T2x I know you are a little "iffy" about some of this stuff, this was printed in a magazine, but if you want me to pull it down off the internet I will, just PM me.
