Vinnie,

SINE of Rod Angle=.5/ (Rod Length/Stroke)

In Excel:
SIN=SUM (0.5)/ (Rod Length/Stroke)

SINE of Rod Angle=.5/ (6.135”/4”) = .3259983

To Convert to Degrees in Excel:

=DEGREES (ASIN (SIN))
=DEGREES (ASIN (.3259983)) =19.0267º

First of all JC is a freind of mine and I also know Richie Zul which I have a lot of respect for because he has been in the engine business for many years. I have only been in business for 26 years and I treat all the engine builders with respect. When I put that little smiley face after my comment that meant I was only joking. So if you don't want to read any of my advice don't and I will not charge you.
Damn Tyler....go eat an energy bar or something......Dave

...and the information you derive from this calculation is only helpful if you have the knowledge/experience to tell you if the resulting number is good or bad.

I agree. I just was interested in what the equation is. I dont claim to be an expert engine builder, I just build my own and a few for friends. I never heard of that measurement before.
