Thanks guy.. We arfe starting to see some wind pick up and Ike is a long way out. I plan on losing power in the next 5 or 6 hours

I know it's a long drive, but I have plenty of room and (temporary)indoor boat storage in Tulsa if anyone needs it. We are supposed to get 2" to 7" of rain and some wind out of this too.

Hey guys, hope everyone makes it out ok from this hurricane, I'm in Beaumont tx, about 80 miles east of Houston. I have my generator full of gas and have 30 extra gallons. plenty of bottle water and food to make it for 4 or 5 days. man im sick of all the hurricanes last one went east of us a little over a week ago. Maybe its time to move!!

there was just a story on yahoo news about a bar on the beach in galveston called the poop deck, they said that they were not going to close or put up shutters, probably not hear from them again.

Jass, why is water receding in your area? Is the wind from Ike pulling water away from your area into areas west?
