Bad news: I finally found out the entire (I hope there isn't more) truth to this. Apparently when I bought the boat for 37K he owed 45K on it. No big deal. However, he did not have the 8K to pay the difference so he just put my money into his account and was basically living off of and paying the payments with my money. He refinanced his house to pay my boat off but I wasn't going to wait for another excuse of why the boat wasn't paid off yet so he was able to get a loan from his parents to pay off the boat while he waits for his refinance money. Also, the 4K, 5K pay off numbers he was giving me were BS. He owed $36,812 to clear the title!!!! WOW!!!

Hopefully I will OFFICIALLY own my boat in the very near future. Please, if you are looking at boats, cars, etc. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again for all of the help.

I had a feeling he owed more then he was telling you. I am glad you got this straightened out. Now enjoy YOUR boat!

That explains why he got pizzed off when a couple of us Fountain owners commented that his original asking price was too high. I think it was in themid to high 40's. He was hoping to get payoff.

Now, enjoy YOUR boat!
