Today the Supercat class...(originally a spec'd carbureted 750 class) has Lamborghini's, Supercharged Mercruisers, 750 Sterlings with 900 hp....etc, etc and many of the racers who can run in that class (as bastardized as it has become) are now sporting 1350's, 1500's, and soon coming to a theater near you...1700's...not to mention turbines.
Mike's point is that anybody who owns an Offshore race boat can afford a single engine vee and all of the big boys can afford a Supercat lite......... all it takes is the guts to swallow your checkbook and enter a truly competitive arena. T2x Your first sentence, to some degree, explains why that class imploded. And I agree with you. It isn't about the boats in the class. It's about the class in the cockpit. |
All the talk of JBS but no one has even asked when the Phenomenon boat was going to join in on the fun in the Turbine Class ... ???
Anyone know if they will ever compete ??? |

Lot's of anti-Arruda comments coming from JBS, but still no video of the two turbines exploding. One would think the video would be the first thing they would show to support their onslaught. Interesting......
|
did your SC team get lapped by their F2 boat and hurt your feelings, one of the JBS guys bannged your wife at a rice?? what??[/QUOTE]
Probably and most likely!!! LOL |

They definitely need more time with that project... |
Until the orgs do a better job supporting rookie teams; offshore racing is deprecated.

They do the best job; a great job is open to interpretation.

details will come out in due time, it takes more than a week or two to compile the details as to not leave any stone unturned ..even you may be enlightened if the details eventually get out in a public forum, I suspect it may not....in the meantime you can continue to froth at the mouth, spew anti extreme class retoric and lose sleep, in the meantime I hear JBS is moving on, hoping to race Geico or Aquamania this year without delaminating or blowing up some turbines the rest of this season, we will see in a few more weeks... Stay tuned...I am sure you will be following them closely just like a lot of us out here, eventually things will start going right for them and if that happens watch out for some good racing! |

Double Down, I'm not interest in your crying or any JBS Arruda bashing. JBS post the video to support your claims.

JBS I wish the best to you! Jeff, it was great meeting you and talking to you just before the delam was pointed out infront of us in St. Clair. You still owe my girl a tour of the boat LOL! BTW where can she get a lil model like they had at the trailer????

phragle stop the geico stroke-fest.
the reason geico left is quite obvious if you just look at jbs's track record under arruda's care. next all that this proves it with alot of $$$$$$$ you can buy a world champ trophy especially when your racing in a class by yourself. |

When you're finished with your emotional mood swings and not a moment before, because we all know how easy you get traumatized ....please explain why JBS told TM the turbines blew but would not provide TM with either the Racepak data or the "pigtail" which would have told the whole story about how and why the engines failed. |

Free
You guys sound like you blow each other.
All I can say right now is that it must be pretty bad if TM and mystic offered me "free" repairs and I didn't take it.Dont worry-everyone will see the data, video, and failure analysis report soon enough. Michigan city-the boat is running better than it ever has-so much so that I'm realy wondering how I ever drove it before-it was purely suicidal. All the I'll handling effects from ****ty inconsistent unmatched junk turbines are a thing of the past for JBS racing.thank you to everyone involved in helping us-All JBS crew members,James Gresham and PPS,And Skater |
A great response from Lady GaGa's most gifted impersonator. LOL!

JBS - I guess the new FAA turbines made too much power for the prop shaft - LOL!
Really not funny, despite our bantering about racing in general I feel bad for you guys no one should have such a run of bad luck - you just can't seem to catch a break. Joe Gere |
I have to give these guys credit....they ran the boat hard today! There were easily 3 - 4's out there as we were out watching on our boat today and despite not having alot of competition they still ran hard. Good job guys!!!

Jeff is in the hospital right now. a bit of rough water knocked loose a kidney stone possibly! the cat scans r still not back!
we didn't run all that hard really...we were really excited that the prop came off at the speed it did and not at 200 or something. not much was holding it on! i am sure there were/are tons of pix on here as i type this. saturday we went out a couple times after some engine adjustments each time and we are very pleased with them! got to go check on jeff again! |
Joe,
How often do you Magnaflux Test your drive shafts and props and when was the last time they were tested ??? Sorry to see this type of damage, but the bright side is you got to save the prop ! :drink: Hope for a quick recovery for Jeff. I've had two stones and certainly would not want to go through it again.... |
can not tell you about these drives/tubes other than they have so VERY few hours on them.
mag testing, amongst all other testing we have done in our merc drives was the norm while i was still working at ford engineering and development....just less than a mile away from our shop for the boat! looks like something else JBS Racing needs to learn! |

Drives
JBS racing now uses TNT direcly. They do magna flux everything. Also there are upgraded shafts for the torque tubes.Obviosly I have to see why we were charged for upgraded shafts and don't have them.just another after effect of being at Arrudas shop-who knows who's torque tubes thosevare and how long they've been run.
All this BS will be over soon as JBS racing has taken everything in house.the boat was running beautifully too-it's a bummer but not the end of the world.I was psyched the prop is still in the boat! |
Jeff and Joe...great meeting you this weekend! Thanks for the behind the scenes look...that is truely one AMAZING machine...and I am kinda glad I didn't have to tow it in!
later, mike and michelle |
Yes Jeff...You are correct
The prop is in the boat... Behind every dark cloud is a silver lining (well sort of) Glad to see you up and about, you guys Rock !!! ET |
Torque tube
Turbine Marine strikes again.they installed my "new" spare ate of torque tubes after the Bimini run.there was less than an hour of running time on them-after it broke we find that they had already been used and were already broken from someonesles use-nice job guys-I will just add it to the other lawsuits.
|
unbelievable....you just can't make this stuff up !!
