Very cool thread!!
I don't know why everything has to turn into a pissin match on here. The guy started the thread asking if anyone had done a conversion like this. Several members listed sites and venders that do this sort of thing and ultimately he went with one of them and is doing his project (unlike the people that start a thread with no intention of ever following thru and are ultimately wasting the time of members that are nice enough to post info when requested).
At no point did he say he was doing this to save money and was looking to be as "green" as possible. I don't know if it is jealousy or what causes people to bash about everything but it is silly. For Christ sakes we are on Offshoreonly.com not blowboaters.com and hence we don't have the most economical pastime.
I for one really enjoy these threads and look forward to logging in to follow others progress.

See your the type of guy who needs to flaunt it and doesnt really have it, but makes up for it with an aged vehicle having some rims and a different motor, along with a boat. I am not getting into what I have and dont have or I make more than you make etc etc etc. All I said is I have more commitments than a boat and a vehicle. Wife and I make the same amount of money, and do as we will with it, do dont understand your statements. Maybe I have multiple vehicles, multiple sports I participate in, so yeah adding dum chit to my truck which is new is not an option. I am not going to get into anymore with you. Personally a dumb purchase in my opinion. Maybe you have all the money in the world and a great job, kudos. Guess what a double wide is not a nice home and you cant retire on a walmart job either.
And if you arent saving at least 10% of month into retirement you might dumb. Lets see drop 15k on a engine swap on a 5 year old vehicle or pay my house down, or save for retirement. Sounds mature for a 30 year old, i can now see why you are not married.

I wonder if its any cheaper to do the swap in a truck meant for the Duramax.
I have a 2005 Dually with a 8.1,,,,I got a great deal on it and couldnt pass it up.
If I could get a duramax swap for under 10K I would still be in good shape money wise on the truck.
Cant wait to see how the truck turns out !!!

Save your breath with this tool. All he does is come onto peoples threads to argue with them. He was banned before for doing this, comes back under another screen name, and continues to argue with people. There's no reasoning with someone like this.
So back on track for those who are interested, what's the progress on the conversion ?
