And by kicking ass, you mean going bankrupt multiple times? Last I checked, OL is still taking orders and still selling boats. They also just debuted a 100% brand new boat that they tooled up from scratch showing they're actively growing while also releasing a CC. Can't forget to mention they're also making top fuel funny car bodies for multiple NHRA teams, and more to come.
Fountain made a heck of a boat, certainly did amazing things in the marine world but the hate towards OL has always been very unjustified.

Good point!!! The undisputed record .......for a real Old School Open Ocean race..... is held by Outerlimits, with a regular production boat, not a one off race boat.
Sad to say, but in the world of Offshore, the only company that has shown up ready to race for the last two years has been Outerlimits.
No need for a retort, just show up this year on September 22, ready to race and you can surely take the record away from them.
Don Aronow Memorial Around Long Island Race...271 miles non-stop 3 hours and 5 minutes record.

I don't know why there is so much hate, but I will say that I can not believe the performance of the 44 that Mike built for us.
I used to work at OL, that is no secret, but I have also worked for a friend of mine who has owned 3 OL's to date, and will be building the 4th. I personally have put 158 hours on our 44 & can say that I have no regrets, in fact I am still amazed at the performance and quality of the ride.
The motors just got freshened, and 158 hours, pump fuel 1375 HP Salt water abuse and nothing broken, just decided to Re Build them and not try to prove any points.
Aside from the motors, we have not had a problem that kept us from Boating.
The boat has a full cabin, A/C, Generator. The speeds speak for themselves. The boat had plenty more in it, but the owner is not looking to go any faster, we ran 144 spinning 1:35's and 17.25 x 38's to the rev limiter. I am sure a set of 1:29's would have given us plenty more.
That being said, I have known Mike since 1997 & worked with him and for him, as well as with some of the most talented people in the business. The only excuse for the hatred, is fear. Fear of what Outerlimits is capable of. To all that think the bashing gets OL down, it is a great motivator.

I think I need to quit my blue collar job, act like sunkin, and try to weasel my way to the upper echelons of the offshore world so I can score rides in some badass boats like all you guys.
Anyone need a deck/boat hand for their highend offshore boat/company and wanna start me at north of 80k? LOL

,but i just like proving that if you tell your self something long enough, you'll add mph(6) in this case and forget that the sticks were to the board and tps sensor was at 100%.wink winkyou want the exact engine rpm the motors were turning.
and as history has proven, time and time again, danny would have been here blabbing their v-hull went 178mph,in a v hull supposedly too, never happened.and i'll stand by the mph's excaliber47 stated,as he has a better memory on this than me.and knows more details on the mph's and engines that did them.
notice dustin never said the E85 motors destoyed themselves after what,10mins or something close to that.funny thing is,some people on here already knew the real story.doesn't help your story telling credibility.

I think you both fell asleep on an Air plane
