Konrad Ace 25,5k Upper and lower drive, Stand off Box, Transmission, steering
They are on sale for a limited time for 18,5k
I honestly know the least about Konrad, called 1 year ago and talked to the booth at miami this year, both times they did not recommend the ACE for my boat making 800hp.

These are just my recommendation and opinions, obviously every boat and owner is different. Yes you can cut items off the list, but in the long run many end up purchasing many "extra" parts.
What about the transom work to put the Arneson on? 5K.

My other question is why would someone who is upgrading to a Bmax or Imco need change or spend money on a 1k Imco gimbal ring, 1k tie bar and a 1K dollar prop when they have one on their boat now. Not to mention 2500.00 for a stand off box and 2K for blueprinting the lower.
I'm pretty sure all there old parts will work just fine and the drive they purchase will work just fine with out 2K of machining on the housing or a stand off box.
So the total cost of a Bmax is 14K if my math is correct.

Ok, I thought that was him. When we spoke he told me he couldn't compare apples to apples because he did engine work and shortie lowers so he wasn't sure what the gain/loss was between Bravo's and SCX. I'll see if I can dig up the email.

Definitely rough numbers and "upgrade" recommendations. Are you suggesting the updgrades as a means to compare the speed different between a bolt-on Bravo Replacement vs. an Arneson?

My out of pocket for my BMax drives were the cost of the drives plus some new new stainless bolts for my steering, stainless washers for my tiebar and I decided to replace the gimbal bearings while I was doing the swap. I didn't need anything else.

Because BMax didn't come with a 1.50 ratio in 2006, I purchased new props. However, today (2012) I would be using same prop because the drive comes with a 1.50 ratio option so that's not an cost today.

Why do you suggest a new tiebar? I didn't run into that issue.

The majority of boats do not need transom work, so if you want to complain about Rik misquoting info why do you misquote info!

When applying more power through a drive why would you not upgrade those parts!!! You even wrote it (gimbal ring) yourself a few post back!!!

Many boats end up having all those parts in the long run, do some research, you will see!

6 yrs behind 838 hp and 834 TQ in a 10,500 lb boat (dry weight) for me, still the same orignal gimbal parts.

I guess others results may vary.

I don't want to keep going back/forth on the arneson thing but for me to lower my engines it would have cost me a new oil pan and rigging work to lower the engines. I'd assume there would have been roughly 10-12 hrs rigging time @ $100hr shop rate if I paid someone to do it. If I did it myself my labor is free but I'd still have the expense of 12qt oil pans that met my space requirements.

Lastly, for me, there was no known 36' Apaches with Arneson's on at that time so I had no data. There was some flat bottom top guns but the boat is 2 ft longer, different bottom rocker and different center of gravity. I just didn't want to gamble on an unknown settup and spend that kind of cash and time to dial it in. If I had more money, maybe I would have considered it or maybe just bought I different boat with 6's.

Best part of this thread and other drive threads, no offense to anyone directly so don't take it personal!

The only people recommending the B-Max, own the company or the drives

All other drives have been recommended by not only the owners of the company and owners of the drives, but also by members who DO NOT own the product......

this has got to be the most ignorant post on this thread. You're pretty good at spending other peoples money. How many of these drives have you owned? The owners of the company's and people that own the drives should be the ones commenting, honestly you should have shut up a long time ago. sorry if the truth hurts but you look like a total ass throughout this whole thread.
