I want a full windshield for several reasons: 1) wind noise (my ears really can't take the wind noise anymore, even with ear plugs), 2) wind blast is tiring, and 3) too cold for me and my passengers out in the Pacific in SoCal off season.

I've found plenty of lake boats with windshields (the norm), but the hulls don't have much deadrise, and I don't trust them to stay together in the Pacific.

If anyone has any leads, let me know.

Be careful, some of the windshields out there do a great job of deflecting the wind right into your upper body. I've found most are useless, and need constant upkeep (aluminum, supports, gaskets, glass, etc.). However, a good sit-down boat with a windscreen works best in that regard.

22zx or 25zx by Donzi, i used to take my 22zx out in 6+ footers here in Miami, although it was only fun going with the wind the boat was capable of handling big seas.

+1 The windshield usually only works if you are sitting. If you want to stand, the windshield if not going to be much help.

There are two reasons for the 26' cutoff. The insurance companies use 26' as a cutoff for insuring people without high performance boat ownership experience. The other is, it won't fit in my side yard.

I really appreciate the input, guys. Keep it coming.

Exception: The Powerquest 260! You can stand and still have full protection from the wind. Tons of freeboard and a 23 degree transom deadrise--Its the perfect boat under 26 feet (25'7") and is a true offshore boat!

Veloctiy 260. Probably the deepest cockpit in it's class (an even larger boats). Full windshield and nice tall drop out bolster seats. WHen standing up, WIndshield is about upperchest/neck (I am 5'9"), but wind is deflected over my head nicely. When sitting down Head is just below the top of windshield. The dash pods do restrict vision a bit thru the windshield but seldom do I sit while driving. Having the windshield does it's job by deflecting the air up an over my head when standing. If I get caught in the rain, it is nice to duck down behind the windshield.
