How do you figure that. The notch is probably 6-10 inches at most. Subtract that from 28 feet and we're still north of 27 feet. BrettM said the boat from transom to bow eye was 28' - he then indicated the length of the bustle.

I'm still trying to find out why on OSO this boat is called a 29 sv an on Outterlimits website it's called a 28 sv ? I'm not asking about the size of the boat We now know this. Just what's the real name of this model ? :poopoo: An I really like this boat. Artie

It is a SV29. The web site is currently being updated.

Thank You. Just wondering when people on here are fighting about the boat. :party-smiley-004:

What's the latest with the OL SV 29 line?

Are there SV 29s cookin' in the oven? I mean that literally as they are post-cured :)

If so, what part of the country will she be going to?

I saw it yesterday at Performance Boat Center. Very, very impressed with the quality of it.

While I haven't seen it in person I was looking at it today on their site. Just my humble, meaningless opinion but there are so many other options out there for 200k.

Still very nice.

Hi,

I am impressed by the SV 29 design, speed and mpg figues, especiallty with the 565.

I live by the North Sea, and the ocean can be nasty around here pretty quickly. There are inshore areas, but sometimes you have to approach the big ones.

I see Outerlimits use an aggressive X dimension. I wonder how the boat handles in speed around 30mph? Does the prop blow out easily at these speeds? Sometimes the waves will be too huge to "fly over them" - and you need to cross them. And drive home in low on plane speed - and avoid idling which is no good at all.

Cheeers, Toffen

I would think that the prop would stay planted pretty well. Stuffing might be a bigger concern with the low profile. I run into similar conditions that you describe with my little Donzi and Imco shorty on the Great Lakes. Stuffing is my main concern.

Hi,

Thanks. Yes, you have a good point. The boats low profile is good for getting high speed figures. The 29 feet makes it a balancing act running with the high seas. I have a Phantom 25 now - and you sit with your heart sometimes in your troat surfing in 40-50 mph without brakes in these waves. The Phantom is also low profile and narrow too (5,5 feet)...

I will swop to a bigger boat in the near future - and the SV29 is definetly on the shortlist :)

I'm obviously a cat person, but it seems like its a lot of work to keep a small v bottom in a straight line at speed.

Toffen 02-02-2013 01:27 PM

Hi!

For what I have heard the SV29 is very stable at high speed. And in videos I have seen the wheel is in one position even in upper 90 ties. No chine walking whatsoever. My ol Phantom also runs on rails even its very narrow. Set up is crucial for v bottoms.

Cheers Toffen

I am also a "cat" person right up until I rode in the sv29. It is so stable at speeds and in my opinion feels more stable then a cat of similar size. The SV29 will make a v bottom lover out of any cat guy.

That 29 is for sale. Great looking boat

Stclair26 03-07-2019 06:29 AM

The SV29is the sexiest boat I've ever seen. Maybe in 10 years or so I can leverage my house against a used one!

They only have a few out there so by then they will be a rare collectible so the price will probably go up! :D

Cool boat, great performance but pricey per foot. I'm shocked there aren't more OB versions out there.

BrettM 03-07-2019 03:13 PM

We had a black and red one with a 600sci. It was a blast in calm water. Lots of fun. Not sure where it ended up.

Very much looking forward to this build. I figured it would come sooner or later.

Its here and we will be posting the progress on this one!!

lavey jr 08-13-2019 11:51 PM

I wonder what speed it’ll put up and how they’ll end up modifying the bustle for the outboards. Would love to see some detailed build/modification pictures of this process.

I'd bet the bustle looks like the 41 OB boat and suspect it will run pretty close to the 600 sci did for speed.

hoping that with lighter twin power, and more torque that the twins will run faster even with an extra drive in the water

That little SV29 is a bad mamma jamma

It's finally coming together, the SV29 outboard model tooling is underway

looks like they're keeping the bustle?

I think a single 450R should do it :drink: . . . please make it a 20 inch mid

Wildman_grafix 04-22-2020 07:13 AM

with the cost difference twin 300R's would be cool.

I too have been curious about this. I like the idea of a single. Do you think a single 450 would get you to 80 plus? That would be the ticket. I think twins would be too crowded and butt heavy, although a 28 Tuff pulls off twin 300xs's. And I think it does just a tad under 100mph.

Nothing personel 353 04-22-2020 08:41 AM

How fast did they run with single 525 or 565? Thanks
