Thanks! It's easy to find jobs as a Nav Arch or Mechanical Engineer all day long in the offshore and commercial industry where starting salaries for new grads run from 60-80k, the small recreational boat market on the other hand is pretty difficult to find something in that range.
What sort of PD&E do you do for GM?

I happen to work on a fleet of Super Duty trucks. Trust me, any Tech worth his stuff pulls the cab for any major engine work. Ford even made it quite easy to do starting in about 2006 because so many people were doing it.

I wouldn't want to tow that boat with that truck any more than around the block however.

Just out of curiosity, how on earth does someone that can read and write (I assume you can, given you wrote this) get that idea from me saying "I THINK THEY ARE OVERPAID?"
If it matters, I'm a "degreed" engineer, with an MBA, working at GM. I'm sure a few UAW guys w/ overtime match my salary, which is crap. However, that money gets back into the US economy. The auto industry is a passion of mine, and my job. Therefore when you peel back the onion more like I have, you find a lot of the history of what has happened. Gets under your skin to see people with no clue go off like experts all the time.
