You are posting utter lies to justify your foreign purchase. Why don't you look up GM, Ford and Chrysler employment. First of all I believe you've overstated toyota by 10k ish, but either way GM employs 90k Americans to sell a similar number of cars. Ford over 60k to sell less. Before anyone gets cute and blames this on efficiency, Toyota claims to employ over 300k global people vs GM's 250k or so. Foreign companies per car sold employ less than 50% of the people, which is then multiplied by the supplier effect, etc.

Keep justifying buying foreign crap because they sell you a load of crap while wrapping themselves in the American flag. Americans are fools and they know it and exploit it.

Please feel free to post how the Big 3 have moved production while others build here, the reality is laughably the opposite. The VAST majority of domestics are built in the US, a much smaller bit of transplants. All they have to do is put "made in USA" on the one or two models in a commercial and this is the crap "Americans" spew to justify their purchase.

The tundra is junk. A country that can't buy enough bland Camry's still buy 1/6th the tundra's they do F150's or GM's each.

Edit: adding a link, aka a clue http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...s-workers.html

Yes the Camry is the #1 selling car, it also tops the charts as the most USA built and content, go figure.

I would rather reward Toyota USA for building a good product than give a bonus to a company that continues to fees us a sub standard product that we are supposed to buy just because it is made here. There used to be a day that OUR stuff was better, it seems GREED has changed that.
And some who giving my hard earned money to them makes it all better? How so???

If you local farm market kept selling you vegetables that rot 2 hrs after u get them would you continue to buy or shop some where else?

I try to buy everything I can built right here. Bottom line is my Toyota was built here by Americans, and is the best 1/2 ton on the market. If the big 3 could make even brakes that last longer than 30k miles maybe my choice would be different.

And the tundra lacks market share because of ignorance. Had Toyota come out with a 1/2 ton in the 80's when our quality was at an all time low market share might be different.

They know however, the truck market is the hardest for them to crack, the buying group for trucks is the US are lost sheep following the heard, the pinnacle of ignorance.

Call it junk, I've owned them all, my review is unbiased, can you say that?

I do agree the unions kill a lot of the good these days, we have a teacher strike going on here that is so rediculous it's insane... I used to be union, I am not now... they never did anything for me... and I have a great job...

He could not get it out of the water due to slip and gearing. He laughed at me while I was backing down saying there was no way I could get mine out with my little truck. I was only going 1/4 mile down the road, i put it in 4 wheel low and it came right out like it was nothing. It was all gearing. I would NEVER tow that boat with what I had, but getting it out of the water was nothing.

This guys wasn't going anywhere, no way. Given the fact that his ass end was buried, he wasn't going far (BTW, I drive a tacoma now). Good that he got it out, and i'm not sure that it was even 4wheel drive, but getting it out and towing it are 2 different things.

And yes down the interstate, I do it all the time. One hand on the wheel and cruise set.

Btw had a 2009 f250 with a 5.4. The toyo out tows it in every possible way, and just feels more STABLE. Turns out the bad boy f250 was only rated for 9600 lbs (crew cab 4wd) and needed to be wife open throttle to go anywhere, and got about the same fuel mileage asy boat does. My last "American" truck until something changes. I would consider a new diesel out of necessity
my apologies, sorry that was a little harsh. but the video shows a 42 baja cruiser and there not the most efficient boats, anyway........

on the common sense side of reality, i'm just looking at the truck in the video, or even the pic of the Ford excursion with the fountain, atleast that truck is sitting level compared to the toyota not sure how yours sits with but it looks like in the video that theier way past the "recommended tongue weight". i've towed a fair a mount of equipment and boats and had my share of issues. that being said i personally wouldn't do that, especially having a CDL.

the other big factor here is STOPPING or having to perform some kind of high speed maneuvering, while likely being at the MAX or over the rated towing capacity you'll end up in the ditch. to many people think that if they can get it rolling behind their truck that alls good.

see it all the time down here in FL, some yoyo towing a loader or dozer with a 5th wheel and a daully. i wouldn't want to have somebody like that behind me and my family on I-75.

I have had 5 F250's, yes they have all been 7.3, but I also dont buy new.... I would own a 6.0 and just do the things it needs... I have 30 people I know with all SD fords, 90% are problem free... some just have issues...

14 explorer/mountaineers over 20 years...same thing, never stranded...

and god only knows how many Mustangs I have been through..as I get bored easily and love fox body Mustangs...

Now as far as buying for reliability, Toyotas really are not any more reliable then anything else in reality... and if they are it isnt much... same for any otrher big 3 or import...

I spend amazing amount of time in my vehicles and buy top of the line for luxury, my F250 is loaded lariat, and mountaineer is premier... both loaded down and they are way more comfortable then the Toyota, Dodge, gm and any other in comparison, that means a ton to me, both mine ride like the have 40,000 miles... truck has 382,00...... mountaineer has 233,000 both are 2002's.... I dont like poayments, I rotate vehicles every 3 years minimal... buy from south with zero rust... EVERYTHING rusts up north... I dont care what it is....

I also do all my own work, am a hard core gearhead and I know what I like... I look at all trucks for fun at auto shows and such, been in GM,Dodge, and even a Tundra, I still say Fords drive, ride, and feel the best... and like I said... in MY CASE have been way more reliable then anything else..

I just don't think Toyota and Nissan trucks are built for long term abuse, they have not proven that yet... I mean didn't Toyota get recalled for cracking frames?? and I don't think any kind of heavy duty truck should have torsion bars, that on a GM dually??? really? they can fail and fuk you up... had it happen once...I will take real springs thx

I am not trying to start a pissing match, I just dont think anyone should tow anything over 8000 lbs with any kind of 1/2 ton truck, they are just not heavy enough if things go bad, I dont care what the rating is, F150 is rated great, and I love Ford, still will tow with my SD ford though...
It is beyond leaving someone stranded. Ask any repair shop to compare American cars to Asian or European cars. A friend owns a large independent shop in my area, he said if it wasn't for the big 3 he would be out of business

My gm cars and trucks gave me the biggests fits of all, just little crap like windows, body control module, brakes, evap systems, security key failure, sunroof problems. For the most part didn't leave me stranded, doesn't make it any better

I also buy the highest level of comfort in any vehicle I buy, the tundra is a limited with leather and nav blah blah. I will say the gm leather is a step above the others.

My wife has a navigator, has been a lot better than the Denali that we had to let go at 77k miles cause everything was broke and it was starting to rust. Still, her next is Porsche cayenne...I want to send money to the nazi as well

I have mecahnic pals that say its all about even at thier shops, either way it can go back and forth, just like the rust issue up north, some rust faster then others...

and yes the GM SUV was huge issues with very stupid problems, my buddy put many window regulators in... and tons of other annoying things....
