Gators
Jacksons
Hurricanes
Tarpon Pointe
Ricks on the River
The Pub
Salt Rock
Woodys
Hooters on the water
Island way
those are just a small few off the top of my head. All dockside and you can bring your boat too and that spans from New Port Richey to Anna maria Island.
also lots of sand bars around here too if that's the type of party you are looking for as well.

That remodel looks great too so far, can't wait for this spring to check it out.
a few more after thinking.....
Shephards
Marker 8
Hula bay
whiskey joes & Hogans
Bahama Breeze
frescos
Jimmy Guanas
The Wharf
and I know I am still missing a few. Again all bar and grills you can bring your boat too with ease in the general tampa/st pete area.

You belive wrong bud.
Tampa is a 15min drive and a straight shot on 60 (gulf to bay) also downtown st pete is about a 20min drive.
Clearwater is no Key west nor will it ever be but they have added a few fun places to hang like a new beach side hooters, jimmys crows nest, shephards, and more.

My inlaws live in Ft. Myers and we travel down there and the surrounding areas quite often.

I wasn't tdisagreeing, I was just asking questions. I know nothing of the area, only what I've heard from people who have been there. I've been to Tampa for business and spent a lot of time around where the conferences are held but not CW.

This area is large but everything is very near by at least all the fun places you might want to go. 20min by car at worst. Like the places I posted too, if you bring a boat there is a LOT of places to go and they are quick to get to as long as your not in the intercoastal.

It is as much about the destination as it is the event From a logistics standpoint and cost/return benifit to the promoters CW would get the nod But most go for the destination
Clearwater is a great place but it is not Key west
Much like comparing motorcycle events..Sturgis and Bike Week Daytona is much easier to get to but Sturgis has so much more once you are there
Sounds like a bidding war
