Dead nuts on for everyday; and the "every boat."
180 gallons of fuel is 1080 lbs.
Generator, AC, fridge, big stereo: there is another ~600 lbs. in options.
Then passengers, and coolers, etc. etc.; It adds up.

Pamlico River style testing can produce better results though. Just ask Reggie.

Exactly.
One time with wind in my back, no gear , perfect chop, low on fuel my 33Outlaw did GPS 80mph (Crockett 502`s). Do I go around the internets saying a 33 Bajas with 620 HP does 80mph. No.
Its was a 74mph boat every other day of the week.

It's props. Weight not so much. I have the 2012 600 SCi boat there right now and it runs 97 all day long with full cabin, genny and air. It weighs every bit of 11k wet. But we spent money on props. 525s with labbed props runs 86-88. With Herrings, 90.

I prefer to send them out the door with a user-friendly prop and always give the customer the option for something faster. But faster isn't necessarily better for jumping up on plane, especially going out a rough inlet.

So is the question: Is the Outerlimits faster if we have the exact same size (running surface) and power?
I believe, based on weight differences, yes.

I will say back when AT Outlaw was racing OL Wild Child we were neck to neck. OL wanted faster and changed the composites to accomplish that by taking weight out since then.

I still like the weight of the boat since nothing replaces it in rough water. And I run rough water.

You can't find a better guy to buy from than Pat at AT. He gives customer service Like Stainless Marine and Bennett Trim Tabs. Nobody better.

Maybe sommerfliesby can chime in on this. I went out for a ride on his 37 with 525s last spring. It was a brisk cool sunny day with great air temps. 3 guys on board. We went out and ran in some real snotty lake Michigan water. I was impressed with the boats ride and handling in the rough water. We got inside the breakwall area in protected waters, with probably around a 1-2ft chop. He put the throttles to the mat, I believe we were seeing 78-80 that day turning about 5200-5300rpm?. Which in my eyes, isn't anything to be ashamed of for such a large boat, with stock 525's. However, I would have a hard time believing he has 10mph in his setup with prop work and a light load. I can see saltwater and sea level in florida being worth a couple two three mph though. I know Mike logged some good time on his boat since he purchased it, maybe he can weigh in with some speed numbers on his particular vessel.

Why do people keep calling AT a troll in this thread? If this thread happened 2 years ago, there would be a certain member that "works" for Outerlimits on here, telling everyone what a POS he thinks the AT is (because he knows all) and you're an idiot if you buy anything but the Outerlimits.
All the Active Thunder representatives have done is state facts about their product, very professionally too. If anything, they should take that maturity elsewhere, because this is OSO and there is no room for facts, figures and proof. Just opinions.

In my situation, Id have the AT. We already have a raceboat, the Active would be a fantastic very fast amenity filled pleasure boat.

Why complain about comparing an older AT but its OK to compare an older 36 Baja? The newer 35 Outlaw (measures 38') is just as nice in every category to a 37 AT!

I really don't know why there's even an argument here. Baja obviously outsold AT same has Outer limits. The NEW buyers have already spoken. Now what the future holds who knows but I for one hope all 3 companies produce some sweet boats so none of us get stuck all owning the same stuff! The only thing I will give Pat at AT credit for is not falling into the shady big business problems Baja Marine got caught in.

Funny also how only one Outer limits owner is even commenting on this thread......

Think we can get back to the point??¿????????

BRAND NEW 36 outer limits VS 37 Active Thunder? Remember you actually have to dream up that you have the money to purchase a new boat not just that in the past you already have dreamt of owning one of these used boats.

As sweet as the new 36OL is I think its lame for outer limits to try to produce a lower cost boat. That's obviously not what the market is asking for.....at least the markets idea of a lower cost boat is a number much lower then 350k. But hey if that's what it cost to build no problem. Might as well add some 700s and nxts at that point cause if you can afford 350+ you can afford a little more cause in the long run the resale will be better. More fun. And NO bravo blues!

The 36OL is more like driving a very refined sports car. (Ferrari or lamborghini). It is smaller, lighter and faster, runs like its on rails. My top gun and the AT's are like the ZR1 corvette. Not quite as fast but bigger overall. (length, freeboard,Cockpit space)
wow i had no idea they were so pricey
