It's props. Weight not so much. I have the 2012 600 SCi boat there right now and it runs 97 all day long with full cabin, genny and air. It weighs every bit of 11k wet. But we spent money on props. 525s with labbed props runs 86-88. With Herrings, 90.
I prefer to send them out the door with a user-friendly prop and always give the customer the option for something faster. But faster isn't necessarily better for jumping up on plane, especially going out a rough inlet.
So is the question: Is the Outerlimits faster if we have the exact same size (running surface) and power?
I believe, based on weight differences, yes.
I will say back when AT Outlaw was racing OL Wild Child we were neck to neck. OL wanted faster and changed the composites to accomplish that by taking weight out since then.
I still like the weight of the boat since nothing replaces it in rough water. And I run rough water.

So if you want to make that 1 giant step hull more efficient your gonna have to do some more R&D.

The Stiletto was a cool boat. The staggered option was cool too. Probably a much better comparison to the 37AT. They both had the intimate bolster setup too. Sommerfliesby took me for a ride on his 37 Excessive this chilly day, and I was right at home in the slut seat.

OK, here ya go… Staggered 525's. 90 all day with 2 couples and i can plane in 4-5 seconds with merc labbed 5 blades. Herrings, and they have this prop on record so if you want to call them to validate, well see for yourself….

OK--your boat s runs 8 mph faster than a 37 AT does with Herring props. The new price on a 39OL is also about 200k more.
This entire thread started out as comparison between a 36 OL and 37 AT which are simlarly priced new.
The AT is bigger and heavier boat and thus about 10-15% slower. It also has a lot more cabin amenties.
Different boats with different types of buyers.. The only thing really comparable is the price point.

I guess I'm trying to figure out what point you are trying to make.

I'm so confused.
I can't figure out the price on a new 700SCI/NXT 37AT with a 25 year old Cigarette paint job, wakeboard tower. and Vanilla Ice spec'd interior colors.

There were better pictures; especially of Key West which is where I'd rather be right now.
