Frank,

You are dead center accurate with your post! Brand loyalty reigns supreme.

Yea your boat is faster this year because I'm opting for a genset and air this summer instead of whipples. P.S. Nice mention about your family in the other article on the front page.
Thanks.

As for the speed, I hardly ever run WOT anyway. We just cruise around and enjoy the sh!t out of it! :-)

for 300k+ I would find a good used 39 cigarette with 700s and be done... but I would also have another 37 active thunder if the price was right...(great boat) that outerlimits is an awesome looking boat boat as well. not sure about the ride in the rough stuff.. How a-bout a challenge? send both Mike and Pat out in their respected brand and see who returns first.. that would be something to talk about!

The OL might win. One think I've found is the ultra light or modified V's run very smooth at speed.

And to quote a racer I spoke with; "This boat runs just as good as my Apache at 100 in rought water. You just gotta have the balls to stay in it and don't miss." My response; "How about at 50-70mph?" Answer; "Worst boat I've ever ridden in."

I'll skip the brand name so no panties get in a jumble.

I realize some of my posts may seem brand loyal, but really I am only trying to present actual facts and true numbers.

If/when I move up my current choices would be between a 37 OL Stilleto, 37 AT and possibly a TS Gun.
The 39 OL is out of my budget or it would be included as one of my possibilities as well..

With all the boats you have owned over the years, have you owned an OL? You defiantly have seat time in all the major brands.

I don't think Jeff has had an OL, caught a ride in a 39 GTX epoxy and hated it but that was a one off boat. He won't answer a "which is the best question" for fear of someone digging up the post at the end of a summer when he is trying to sell XYZ brand. Jeff wants to buy cheap, run for gas money only and then sell at the end of the season for a profit.......not a bad plan but it would distort the answer on which is the best question.

I haven't been around as long as some on OSO but I believe the Jeff list is:

38 ZRC
36 NT w/ASD
38 TS TG (boat later sold/sunk/on ebay frequently)
38 ZR
37 AT (red whippled boat)
39 TG ZUL

Great idea if it's in rough water. All this talk about speed, speed and speed on a site called offshoreonly.
