Cabin boats were only popular when financing was available to people who could not afford to even own the boat let alone maintain or run it. Customers buying new powerboats in today's market can afford a hotel.

I'm pretty sure than anyone who can afford to own and put gas in one of these boats can afford a hotel room. It's good to have a nice place to get out of the sun during a raft up, or hang out when you are at the dock, or spend the night somewhere where there are no hotel rooms. All else being equal, why wouldn't you want a nice cabin?
For me, my wife likes to stay overnight on the boat. We have air so I don't mind either, granted I wouldn't stay for more than a couple days at a time. Cabin is at the top of the list when I look at boats and is the reason I've communicated with Pat on an AT. |
