You guys are all bench racers and dreamers, you are rooting on a ghost there is no more fountain as you knew it. Wake up that's the reason why there is still an OL .they have a lot of new things on the table, with the record or not OL's existence does not revolve around this record or any other for that matter.
Keep rebuilding your crusty old fountian's till they don't exist anymore .

Designed for a 1500lb car w/5 gears, a clutch and runs for 7 seconds and gets towed back to the pits. Most of his engines have no water jacketing or a cooling system either.
They are still bad ass of course.
(A NHRA 500 cu.in. Pro Stock motor is making 1500+ HP's w/500 cu.in's which is 3 HP's per cu.in. Vs two for Sonny's motors)
Not quite the same as 10,000 lb boat, one gear, no clutch, a 36" wheel on a kilo attempt. Oh yea, the one gear is over drive.
Remember too, a proper Kilo attempt is a kilo run in, a timed kilo and kilo out the back. Consecutive.
Then repeat.
A kilo being .62 of a mile times three = 1.86 miles w/a brick on the gas pedal.
Each way.
Who here has done that w/major power?
Can't find that damn cricket icon!

Here it is, the SAR (Sonny's Automotive Racing) 1,650 hp Marine Motor, 880 cu.in, which runs on 91 Octane. So, let me change the blower-pulley on each motor, then run race fuel, and WALA!....1,900+ hp in all probability. Now that was a quick solution to the block not being water-cooled.
If you don't believe me, here is the link to support my post. I like facts. Ever since I first saw a SAR motors in a new 38' Cigarette at the NYC Boat Show in the early 1990's I have always been amazed by these big cube beasts he builds.
It is OK to dream, that is what gets me through some monotonous days.
PS Twisted Metal would run pretty good with a set of these 880 cu.in. motoors, and RFIII, aka Real Fast Marine, could dial it in. Now that is something to think about....

Can either Fountain or OL please put a pair of 3000hp T55's with shaft drives in one of these vee bottoms. I think the SV 52 would be a perfect boat for them.

Mercury transmission failed, only reason they lost while in the lead. Year before, broke the crank pulley that held 8mm pulley off. Dominating both times. And to be clear, this year Twisted Metal won with there Whipple Charged Mercury Racing engines, not Instigator.
