I hate the "shop materials fee"......as a percent of the bill. On an engine rebuild everything is itemized so why the need for the 5% materials fee? Safe to say 5% (or whatever) more than covers the paper towels, grease, wd-40 about 500% over in the first few jobs, then it is just a gouge.

I had a fat pig realtor rip into me one day about parking 2 tires on here grass. Keep in mind it is in a narrow alley and she has about 15 inches of grass there so it isn't like I parked on her front lawn with the bumper against her front door! Technically it is an easement anyway, she doesn't own that piece of dirt. She is ranting, I explained I have done this for 10 years now with no bad effects, she just kept going so I laughed at her......She gets enraged, "what is so funny"......I told her the huge booger hanging off her nose is distracting! She then went into "rage overdrive" and I just drove off!

That's insane! I charge $9.00. Guess I need to get with the times, I'll fix you up at 4.99%

It will quiet down once the Powdercoat wears off...

Ya, after the idler pulley starting walking of and chewed into my timing cover. I told him it was a bad idler... Needless to say they got me for 7k and only spent another 20k to fix that debacle.

A guy i use to work with had the crank seal leaking on a small gas engine because when he changed it before he put a big scratch on the crank and the base. So instead of fixing it the right way he said "I'll just put two seals on it that should fix it."

Hmm..
