Just removed the old Garmin GPS and Foruno Chartplotter. Both wore out. Rather than invest 3-4 figures in some cray in-built Chartplotter, I had a composite plate made and installed a surface mount for my waterproof iPad case. Now the iPad sits securely on my dash with updated charts.

Using Nqavionics. More than I'll ever need.

plus, if I want to go for offshore, I can get a battery-powered Bluetooth antenna.

I used the RAM mount. Very strong, but the iPad moved around more than I wanted. Surface mount is great.

How do you see the thing in the daylight ?

I'm interested in this as well. I have the Navi app on my Iphone and it works good but you can't hardly see it during the day

Angle of dash keeps this from being a problem, unless early in morning or late in afternoon and position of boat.

But I also have overhead arch with electronics box and, sometimes, a black Bimini attached to arch so sun is not an issue.
