Id do a New 29' Hustler - Big single power (800hp+)....Lower cost, great size to tow yet handle big water, less daily cost...oh and a new ride with money in the bank !

You want a 42' boat....I want a 30'-32' now after now owning my 36'. Does that make you better in any way shape or form? Give you the right to bash or look down on someone? I would say no, it is just we see things differently.

If I could keep my sonic but by some magic trick get what I want out of a boat do you. Not think I would?

I own a loud 7.3 diesel Excursion, I also have a very loud Harley I am rebuilding currently, my boat is loud as well. But now I want O/B's on a boat and some how to some I am losing man cred....that part is sad.

Also yes, me at 32 and you are 34 are very much a youth in this type of boating.
I never bashed anyone for what they like. So you may seriously wanna direct your shots elsewhere.

Ok. You quoted me when you said it which implies me. I have no problems with what others like even if I don't like it. I give a friendly ribbing but that's all it is. To each his own. My dad has a 302 scarab. Older but a good running boat. No way in hell I'd get one of those and not own a I/O boat. I'd have a center console as a second boat not my primary. However until I find and buy the 42 I want I will use the hell out of it when I stop being busy with all this schooling.

I have had lots of fun, when I was 28 I had no kids, could take off to Vegas with buddies in a day's notice and do just about anything within reason. Years later, I don't want all my money back........just 1/2! You can always spend the money later, you just can't always put it away later!

Now 2 kids, need braces (5K each), $200 goes no where with school supplies and other nonsense, kids are tearing through $75 sneakers seems like every other month....heck just going out to dinner is $75+ at a regular place like Outback. Neighbor's kids are into horses.....thank God my kids could care less, Mr. Ed is killing their family budget!

My dad was notoriously cheap, as a kid we never had cable TV, rarely went out to dinner (like once a month at Sonny's BBQ) and now as an adult I get aggravated paying for stuff my father never did......even just cell phones/cable/internet add up to thousands of dollars a year and over a lifetime it is serious money. I went to Atlantis in the Bahamas last month, it cost me 6K in 4 days! My dad never spent 6K in his life on a family vacation! Now granted the kids rented jetskis, swam with dolphins etc and had a great time and I didn't expect it to be cheap but the Bahamas isn't that great! Out of principle, I felt Atlantis was just gouging you for everything so despite walking through the casino daily I didn't wager a single dollar in there figuring no need to give them any more money than I was already spending!

Now I'm not saying go full on "Ted Kaczynski" and live in the woods ranting about the world but reel it a little, as you get older you will appreciate the money even more!
I hear this 100 percent. Had a lot of fun in my twenties and still do but differently. Two kids now, school, braces for my wife again haha. New tits are in the future as well. If I have a couple beers at dinner it's $60-70 for a family of four. And I'm not complaining, that's just the way it is. My kids have it better than I ever did. If I didn't do all this other chit all the time I probably could afford a new boat but I would rather live the way we do now.

I quoted you cause you quoted me on the if the "noise is attached to manhood" comment which was directed at no one in particular at all.

Either way there was no shots at you.

I wist I could own both and get the best of both worlds but I can not. It is not in the cards at all and won't be anytime soon.

So its one or the other. So I am just picking the one that still is fun but more importantly the one that is the easiest to ensure I am on the water with friends every weekend.

I can't say that about my Sonic and it is not fun and easy to take out every Sunday. Maybe if I had the luxury of living on the water (not sure if you or don't) and had about 10 less friends that LOVE to boat then I would keep it......maybe.

There we go, now this thread is getting somewhere. And I need to adjust my imaginary budget. Six times.
