There are many original offshore race boats that are still around and waiting for the right person to bring them back to life.
Take the original BENIHANA, the 35 Cigarette that was raced by Rocky Aoki
Complete repaint and re-rig with two new 700 HP engines with # 6 drives.
It would cruise right around 100 MPH and be the center of attention of any poker run.
It won the very last Miami to Nassau race and set a record
It won the Bahamas 500
It won the Bushmills race twice
It won the San Francisco race
It won the Strohs race
It set five new speed records in the two years it raced.
This could be done for around $200,000
The other $300,000 could be used for poker run entry fees and fuel for the next 20 years.

$500k free money for boating?! I'll play....
Sell my 24x7 CC for $1, buy it back for same price.
$20k for a 300XS rigged to "new" boat.
$20k for a used F250 to tow "new" boat.
$20k for a 2-fer Mitcher T paint job for boat and truck.
$39,999 for fuel/maintenance/insurance, remaining $400k for a houseboat and related fees on Cumberland or Murray

JS- Good post but one thing you might have mentioned in your challenge question is "You may not own any other boat" b/c I think most will go cheap & pocket the money especially if they already have some sort of performance boat or CC. Your $500k allows them to have the best of both worlds but if they had to be rid of everything PWC's included the responses might look different.

If I had to spend the 500K, for my lake and my standard of living, I would get a 33Ft +/- twin engine Deep V, a 26ft single I/O cat, a Ski/wakeboard boat, and a 22ft or so Deckboat. The Deckboat could take place of the ski boat (for my famdamily) so, if something had to go, it would be the purpose built ski boat.
Oh schit, I'd need a bigger driveway and dock too. Damn. LOL.

I took it as you put it. $500k for one boat and a boat only with no option for anything else.

Agreed but it doesn't appear the others have & like another member wrote, you should only be able to spend it on a boat & boat related items not invest it double your $$ & buy a house & a boat. All good strategies but not the intention of Jupiter's post as I interpreted it.
