Always a good idea IMO to not only check clearances, but to rotate an assembled short block around with a torque wrench, and see how much TQ it takes to rotate it. I'm gonna guess this one took quite a bit when it was new!

Not like I'm Eddie Young or anything, but I rotate the crankshaft one revolution after every component is installed. You get a feel for it pretty quick and I have saved myself before by noticing something that felt "not right". I caught it and knew which hole it was immediately and saved extra tear down time to find it. I slather assembly lube on like it is free so I don't worry about dry squeeking anything rotating it.

Probably lol I am on my way to UPS now to drop off stuff I plan to terret down when I get home stay tuned in a couple hours

I dropped a cable box from two feet up on my toe about an hour ago. Suddenly my ambition is all dried up and my toe seems to be pointing a different direction than it used to. I'll be sitting here eagerly awaiting updates and living the life of a keyboard warrior tonight. :mad:

I am gonna go with my first thought if engine builder fail! I was luck ringer the time I did on these engines it looks like and upping oil pressure for sure had to help or they would have gone last year, there is no way this is anything but a back years hack build I talked to my buddy and he said we did not pull rod caps just a few mains, wish I would have....

This is #1 reason I don't trust people and do everything myself with the help of a select few I trust!

Mother of Christ, did he try to chamfer the rods and bearings with a carbide burr? Might as well toss those rods in the scrap heap.
