Someone please tell him his boat is "crazy competitive" and he's awesome and no cat could ever run with him nor any professional drivers ever compete with him so he'll shut the %@#! up! Geez. That said, I'd run you any day!

How about the 29 outerlimits than ran over a hundred with a single 600 sci. I know it's not outboards but that's getting it done.

what i find more often than not is a lot of the self proclaimed expert, lifelong boat driving top speed producing guys really cant drive a boat very well. there's a lot of big numbers out there, only saw it once, light on fuel, no one else to verify, blah blah blah. that boat generally runs 10 mph slower lol, but seriously. i will tell you that i am generally at the front of my group and by far, not even close to being the fastest in my class. you will only know if you are "competitive" if you know the guy next to you is shooting for the same thing (race on). the only cat that i know of that you will smoke the doors off of is a 39 usa cat, all others are probably gonna getcha

[QUOTE=Omni Present;4230808]Reggie Fountain had the last V bottom cat killer I've ever heard of and that was a SuperBoat. Does anyone have a 25' to 30' V bottom outboard or IO twin or single that can take down cats of the same size consistently?

I've never seen a 25 to 30 foot V run in the 150 mph range and that's what it would take to be a 25 to 30 foot Cat Killer.

What in the actual fuk did I just read

Couginitnordic 12-12-2014 05:10 PM

I think the 29 outerlimits/eliminator is about the fastest 25'-30' v hull out there. The Nordics are fast but the outerlimits with a single gets it done with the multi step config. I don't think you will see many run over 150 in a 30' and under v hull. That is serious hp to get that in a single and anyone with that money will prob go out and spend it on a bigger twin.

Actually only one that's why I'm asking questions to find out if this 30' Spectre is broken or slower then a 30 skater. As far as them sand bagging me I highly doubt it given the competitive nature of the situation and all the eyes and video running. my buddy has a 30' Skater with 300xs he's always out running me and he's always been honest and says best he's ever run is 104mph. Now if that's fact and I believe him heck Pro27 should be right there..... Hey this is far from my last boat and a cat is without question my next purchase so I hear you guys just trying to learn fellas!

Many of the boats you're comparing your P27 to in this thread are much bigger boats. If you want to compare it to a cat, compare it to a 28 Skater since it's more similar in length. The Skater (although still slightly bigger) will be at least 15% faster with similar power and it also run circles around you in the rough as well.

With that said, nice boat and respectable numbers.

I've yet to have the opportunity to run a 28' Skater yet but My research seems to match yours. Thanks for the compliment so far I'm very pleased with this package and feel confident there is room for improvement which I look forward to. Cheers
