From Cat to Console, a Nor-Tech CC is in my Future

Nascat,
Way cool boat , putting together (new to me 377 talon) cat. Should be together by spring time if you need a go fast fix, you just have to come to Wylie. Tried to stay away from the speed thing for a season, but Had to go back.
You will love the center console at the coast. Still hard to keep clean.

I hear you loud and clear. Once the Skater sold & I was truly in the boat buyers seat w/o a trade the gravity of the go fast classifieds never let me get very far. I was pretty hot & heavy on a OL but in the end my boating friends & industry professionals helped me stay the course & I'm good w/ my decision to buy the Nor-Tech 340.
Congrats on your new acquisition, I think you'll really enjoy the boats ability to achieve triple digit speeds effortlessly in comparison to the Vee. Different type of boating for sure. I will most certainly take you up on a ride next summer.
Merry Christmas

Hi!
Congratulations with your new boat!
I have been fortunate to be able to be guest in a couple of Nor-Tech CC. One 29 feet with twin 300 Verados and one 42 feet with inboards. The fit and finish is just of a different league than you normally see and experience in Norway. 12 people in the 30 footer and 18 people in the 42 was no deal. The boats just moved on effortsless, and turned on a dime. Amazing how they tracked. We did some nice turns inshore up here
And the girls just loves them. The boats have just the amneties they want
I have a Phantom 25 feet offshore hull. Its like a Jaguar E Type on water. I used to have twin Merc 2,5 EFI SS on it and it ran close to 90 mph. However, the cost per hour was USD 350 per hour plus USD 15K i service annually. We are Norway.... Speed fans shaked their heads in disbelief when I sold the engines and bought a Verado 350 sci. Cost per hour is now USD 70. And service? USD 2,000 inl winter storing. So I lost some speed on top (6 mph) and accelleration, but now I use my boat 6 times more - with 10 times more fun. The engine works! And my wife - she is happy too!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Hi!
Although owning the twin set up is not like having a 130 mph cat, it has some similarities. Both cost money, maintaince time, downtime (we tend to forget), cannot idle for long, not that good for party (can be discussed ofcourse!), etc. But you have the thrill of the sound, accelleration and speed. It took me six years to see the letters on the wall when it was only me boating..
Did you ever consider to buy the new Nor-Tech Monte Carlo 36 Flyer? If I had the money!
Cheers Toffen

Toffen,
I wasn't really familiar w/ the MC Flyer until I actually made my first NT factory visit. It captured my attention b/c of the more plush cabin but in an effort not to confuse matters more & stick to my original plan I stayed the course of the 340 Sport. Once I've owned & boated w/ the center console I'll decide whether I really desire something different. Right now I'm pretty excited about my 340 Sport & I think the more maintenance free open cockpit will align better w/ my intended ICW style boating. One thing the MC Flyer lacks is a top or any way to get out of the sun while operating. That was high on my Must Have list.
