Nascat, speaking of your cat, as you know from experience, what is the difference between the Ilmor 725 and 710s in terms of swapping them out? Are the 725's strictly throttle and drive-by-wire or can you just swap a 710 out for a 725 without any modifications other than the gauges?

NASCAT 06-14-2018 01:27 PM

Those are 2 totally different engine platforms.
If I'm not mistaken the 725's also need to be paired w/ the Indy Drive.
What I will say is that they were able to get my 710's which were old school mechanical linkage to talk to the Indy Drives that were intended to be drive by wire.
Sounds like a question for ILMOR.

I texed my dealer on Thursday,he replied,I will reach out to Nor Tech for a update, didn't hear anything back. But when I call dealer Rep. at Nor Tech I always get a answer, but than the dealer gets mad when I call direct. So what do I do.I had the Janurary 1st slot. When your spending over $400k for a boat I think they should keep you updated.

NASCAT 06-16-2018 10:20 PM

I agree, you should be kept in the loop w/ some sort of routine updates.
IMO if you are dealing w/ someone that isn’t professional and or operates very loosely I would call them so you can speak directly to them as well as set the expectation. I try to keep individuals like this in a tight box.

if the dealer got miffed at me for going to the manufacturers rep in order to receive a progress report I’d be making sure the dealer understood that this was his own doing and basically a cause and effect matter that could have been avoided by some basic communication.

This is may not be your style but I’m a Type A individual so I typically hold others to the same level of accountability I do myself.

in summary keeping tapping into the resource that provides you the info you seek in a timely manner.

Thanks for your input,Iam going to take your advise and reach out to the dealer and tell them if you don't want to do your job I'll do it for you. I think you should alway be kept in the loop I shouldn't have call to press the issue.

Almost positive June is when the production year changes so you would most likely end up w/ a 2019.

Ran C 07-22-2018 09:44 AM

Findley got back to me on Friday said it would be a 2019, at this rate it may be a 2020."Joking" I think?

Ran C 08-10-2018 01:42 PM

Still waiting on boat Sept 1st will be 8 month from the January slot that I had should be done by then. Told it would be a 16 week build. So if your waiting for a 34'NT thats the deal.
