There have been a couple of posts that question the tunel escape hatch. I thought all big cats had tunel escape hatches and the driver and throttle man used the hatch to exit a flipped boat. Why does this seem taboo to talk about on this thread?

How did that pass inspection if there was a known problem with the escape hatch before hitting the race course?
Were the divers that were the first responders aware of the hatch in the tunnel ?
As far as the diver listed as a helicopter diver in the exhibit, I think the plaintiffs lawyer was saying the experienced trained Angel should have been deployed.

Yes. OPA does. If someone is in the water, red flags are up and we are sent back to our milling areas.

I agree with only one thing said in this thread....that is a terrible tragedy and nothing will bring Joey back.

Tunnel hatches are not required. Many older canopy cats do not have them.

Like i said it was last min, it was after they were craned in. No the team didnt make anyone aware of the issue by that time all divers and medics were on the race course and they didnt bother to radio anyone. Big mistake on there part.

He wasnt there how can he say who should of been deployed does he know who was first on the scene?
