Does your drivers license have to be valid to drive a boat? Not stirring, just asking.

Not in most states but that is legislation that is literally under discussion. Penalties incurred while operating a marine vessel could be charged against the driver license of an individual if legislation is completed.

I am having a beer in GA as we speak and didn't get carded. For that matter never have and I am in Georgia a fair amount, from Athens to savannah.

In Indiana if you get a DUI while operating a boat they take your drivers license.

Uh, no.....

Still, not enough time for the offense, especially considering the recidivism displayed by this guy.

That's what I was thinking too. I've spent lots of time in Ga. and never been asked for an ID.

I believe you lose your driving privileges in Texas as well.

Either way lives are ruined, its a shame, I also went head on with a drunk a few years back, luckily I was paying attention otherwise would have been worse, I also agree with the prev statement about first time offenders, let's be honest .08 is really about 2 beers, but I understand them wanting to scare people, its a fine line, I have a cdl so I'm .04 so I'm really careful,,,

.
This happened to my Ex and i up in Lake Lanier about 6 years ago. Maybe it is only that county or maybe they repealed the law. Bartender told us it was because they have a problem with so many repeat offenders there.

Here in NH - Live Free or Die - Not.

If you lose your liscense to DUI, you lose your right to operate your boat, snowmobile, and etc.

Being pulled over drunk even on your boat, snowmobile etc, and being charged DUI, will revoke your liscense.

No where to walk to here. You lose your liscense, you need to move to a more populated area.

Not worth it...but yeh, many DUI's happen here.
