Fresh water is more corrosive then fresh water now? It's getting good around here now. I've never seen a boat for sale being advertised as salt water boat for good reason. My boat spent its first couple years in salt and fresh water after that. The boat is now 11 years old, It's taken me 2 years to fix all the damage done by salt the first couple years of its life. Rusty motor mounts, bolts, paint bubbling, corrosion on stainless and alluminum. A lot of this stuff many people might not notice or care about but I do and most in fresh water do. Boats that are in salt water 100 percent of the time are worth less, sorry that's the way it is. Unless you maintain it like dean ferry

My buddy bought the OSO TG back in 2008. He put 300 salt water hours on it and it was as clean as the day he bought it. He had a kid go over the boat after every use, even brought the kid on the Bahamas Poker Run so the boat would be cleaned daily. 300 hours on the original CMI headers and XR drives.

So if you sold your boat would you advertise "fresh water only?"

Damm, this thread is slowing down before it has sucked all of the fun out of boating.
Just find the cleanest boat that fits your requirements and better yet if it is freshwater. The important part is to buy what you like and then enjoy using it as much as possible- if it ain't running it's rusting.
