Before we bought our 40' cruiser and a go fast we looked into ALL these crossover boats.

Black Thunder definitely is the biggest Go Fast and pretty cool boats

The 47 Fountain is a cool boat but small compared to a Black Thunder, I've been on both side by side

I assumed you were looking for MORE reliability though, which your NOT going to get from any of these crossover boats

I guess I'm confused on how spending more money to purchase a new boat then what your sells for, just as much to maintain, more on trips, more on slips, will equal less stressful boating?

Personally I would look for an older, less expensive, 36-42' express cruiser, there's lots for 15-45k, don't worry about the speed it's not going to give you a "thrill" anyways, leave it in a slip, and just enjoy extra money in your bank account. Maybe put a sweet Dingy or jet ski on the platform.

Hmmmm...reading this thread front to back, you seem to keep going back to a big performance style boats that are reliable........I say put 502MAGs in the Flat Deck, add a hatch A/C unit, and call it a day !!!!! You'll have a 55 MPH cruiser with A/C and save yourself 100K !
Just a thought.

Sunseeker with Triples (48' LOA)? It would make someone a great Christmas present.

I was really set on the 38EC with Diesels and Arnesons... Good gas usage towable, good drives but then tommybanana blew up my dream with his small Diesels are junk talk.
Now I'm circling back to a powerboat. That doesn't make make much sense. A pair of 500efis in a huge Black Thunder would seem like a nice reliable packag no? .
Paying for a slip and storage on a big cruiser and being stuck in one marina doesn't seem very attractive. I like to go places... As far as speed Kevin, It's less about the thrills and more about getting places. You have stuff is close proximity, this side of the lake everything is spread out. Going to lunch from Racine to Milwaukee taking 2hrs at 20mph that's definitely out of the question.
I'm not sure what I wanna do at this point.
Kreed, the Cig has ac... What kind of hvac guy would I be if my boat didn't have one.
