I just did the same thing I did when I was looking for a CC a few years ago. Went on a CL app, typed in 250 Center, and started scrolling. Came up with this:

The color is hideous, but it's Awlgrip, and with the right dark blue and silver graphics/wrap it could probably be ok.
I think at 17k you're relegated to the 24-27 single market, and even then you're going to have to browse daily, be ready to buy, and be ready to THOROUGHLY inspect the hull and motor.

Our 24 pathfinder with a single 175 V-max was a "steal" at $20k and have a offer of $25k to sell it now. It blows my mind what these type of boats go for.

I know man. I boat there all the time. Not had much luck on the close in reefs but the middle grounds are an option if you're willing to run far.

I had considered the older Scarab Sports too. I recall hearing that the straight transom with a bracket is a better hull/design than the ones that the motors hang on. Anything to that theory?

That's speculation. An integrated bracket boat doesn't have holes poked in the transom below the waterline, which id say is nice.

But I geuss you could run a jack plate off the transom. I'm not sure if they use those on big multi engine boats.
