OK I know you're old and alzheimers has set in but I never ever said a #6 drive but rather a speedmaster drive. What was your reason for changing to #4 from #3 drives on that swimming pool of yours, BRO? And why did Mo Beck have your parts pile in his shop for SO LONG? Hollywood will lay the law down Hacksaw!!!!!

Shawn

The DMan and myself are long time friendly rivals. He is also a very good friend of mine.

One thing is for sure he is plethera of useless information. :):)

All in all he is one of the best in controlling a boat at high speeds.

How do the prices on new boats compare?

Did anyone compare prices between Apache and Cigarette at the Miami show? I understand that Cigarette has raised their prices once again! How much can you get a 36 Warrior or a new 42 compared to a 35 or 42 Cig?

What kind of warranty does Apache have on new boats?

sean stinson 02-20-2003 08:42 AM

I am working on new pricing right now. The 36 at the show sold for $369,900 with the rest of the graphics to be painted this week.

Current warranty on a new Apache is 3 year structural and whatever manufacturer warranty is on parts used in the manufacturing process.

Warranties are being discussed now. But if there is a failure of some sort due to structural integrity of the boat we will stand behind it as long as you didn't try to jump a ship or something drastic.

LEOPAJM 02-20-2003 09:41 AM

SS ... where are the new 42's going to start at, or has'nt that been determined as of yet ???

Thanks!

JM

sean stinson 02-20-2003 10:09 AM

They are being started as we speak....new tooling from the original 41 with a new flare added to it is being made right now and the 42 will debut at the Lauderdale show.

sgrady 02-20-2003 12:22 PM

Sean,
Is Apache considering any type of sit down configuration simalar to the new Donzi, Gladiator, OL GTX or Dragon.

SummerObsession 02-21-2003 04:50 PM

I would have to vote cigarette. Perhaps even a 35' twin step Playboy!:D :D ;)

sean; what is your relation with apache boats?

Tom McCann 02-22-2003 02:36 PM

Cigarette
Where do think the molds for apache came from? Enough said. Cigarette invented offshore boats and everything since is compared to a cigarette. Even people that dont know anything about boats call all of them cigarette boats. Theres a long history between Apache and Cigarette, I believe this history ended back in 89 on 188 thunder boat row. Those that know the history know what im talking about. I have no use for apache.

They are 2 diffrent boats
cigarettes have too much "lipstick"

Looks, Rough water performance, Apache wins

Besides Apache owners are more loyal.

Look who's winning this poll!!!

The Man!

spitfire1 02-23-2003 10:41 PM

The point is Steve, is that Cigarette is still alive and kickin....not involved in a bunch of BS litigation and never ending arguments over who owns what....It is a fact that the mold for the 41 Apache came from Don Aronow is it not.....I am well aware of the magic that Don worked over and over again on his resale ventures......I am entitled to my opinion.....I personally also like the Apache and its storied past and colorful heritage.....but for me Cigarette is Numero Uno......of course that is just my opinion....

ScalpTaker36 02-23-2003 10:44 PM

The problem with cigarette is that you have alot non-diehard boaters who are buying a top gun or a tiger as a first boat.
(Penis extensions)

Cigarette has gotten too big for it's own good.

thunderdan 02-23-2003 10:48 PM

Scalp taker,

I see that you ordered a 36 at the show, congrats. When do you expect to have your boat in LI? How did you set her up? Do you ever do any of the Poker Runs that the NJPPC puts on? I look forward to seeing your boat.

spitfire1 02-23-2003 10:50 PM

The problem with cigarette is that you have alot non-diehard boaters who are buying a top gun or a tiger as a first boat.
According to who???? You???? You have an opinion just like everyone else......so the fact that someone likes a Cigarette enough to save there money and go out and buy one as their first boat is a detriment to the brand.....come on......you are going to have to come up with alot better than that.....

ScalpTaker36 02-23-2003 10:51 PM

Hopefully end of April.

I'm going to be in the NY & Manhasset Poker runs this year.

Your going to start seeing alot more Apaches in the Tri-State Area.

There will be a big news for Apache fans all over the place.

More to come.........

spitfire1 02-23-2003 10:56 PM

The 41 came from Don..but someone had to execute the finished product...that was no accident...BTW,STEVE 1 hasn't told you,but ,I will that he IS the best guy to lay up a boat in the industry...knows his sh*t..listen to him................
Cash...I have been around this board for awhile and am well aware of Steve's opinions and thoughts on a wide range of subjects here.....the fact that he knows a thing or two about laying up a boat doesnt make him the last word on any subject discussed here.......He prefers Apache.....I prefer Cigarette.....end of story.....

ScalpTaker36 02-23-2003 10:57 PM

Spit,
We are both entitled to our opinions.
I don't think Cigarettes are bad boats.

Apaches are just better.
Who would you want designing your new boat

The corporate owners of Cigarette or

The Big cheif Mr. Saccenti (trained by Mr. Arronow)

ScalpTaker36 02-23-2003 11:08 PM

I'm sorry too old,

Company was sold so many times. It's hard to keep up.

NEW TOPIC
Folks,

who do you want to build your new boat?

Skip & Neil

or Bob & Eric

I never said anything bad about Cigarette boats

besides, cigarette and Apache have the same grandfather ( D.A.)

I don't need to "justify" my purchase to anyone.

BattleCry 02-23-2003 11:38 PM

Not meaning the gentlemen who run Apache but, just a championship. Seriously, I don't know. But all of the success in the late 80's and early 90's and no championship for an Apache boat?
