OK, nothing too serious from what I'm seeing from friends on FB.

We dodged a bullet in the South Cape (Yacht Club). My neighbors tell me that there are some torn screens, some limbs down, and some real minor wind damage. The "surge" ended up being about 12" above our seawall, so that was not an issue at all (my biggest fear was a 12' surge). We are probably heading down on Thursday in order to let things calm down a bit traffic wise.

hurricane sandy was backwards. water was on the right and land was on the left. I think that is when you really get a big surge.

I do know that it is not NEARLY as bad as what we had expected. We pretty much had written off the house until about mid-day today. Hopefully the storm surge does not get too crazy.
no damage at my house, power is on. Hoping for the best for everyone else.

I can't post photos but in this link there's a photo of Gilberts (Key Largo) that is under water! Also, watch the video and it shows a lot of photos of the keys from today. Deer Key is easily recognized from the fencing along the 1.

My cousin and her husband live on their boat in the marina off the Palm Ave causeway. i caught a post from one of her friends that said just before it hit they headed for shelter and got in, hope their boat survived they have been down their twenty years now.

My parents park in Bonita Springs is decimated, status of their trailer is unknown but it is not looking good. Out of 1500 "park models" in Citrus Park only about 12 are damage free, not looking good. The park was still flooded as of last night.

Seen a video of someone in Key west driving down I think Duval street in about 3 feet of water.

Anywhere else looks like everything thing is gone.
